Please tell me what I can do to stop this.

Lately, I have noticed quite a few of my ezine articles have been published on other peoples property as if it were their own creation. Ordinarily I would not care so much seeing as how someone stealing content probably wont make it very long anyway, but in 2 instances, my content on their site ranks higher for my kw than my original EZA ones do. So what can I do about it other than piss and moan and get over it?

If they publish it with your toolbox - that's perfectly legal. You would even want it

However, if they removed the toolbox - report them to their host company for copyright infringement.

Thats what Im saying, I dont mind 90% of the sites using my content as they give proper credit. But the one I ran across this morning, is a make money online adsense site and my niche is so far from that! I dont see how the article is even ranking. But I will report them, thanks

        Hi,
I'm afraid this happens all the time nowadays, thankfully not most of the time. But some autoblogging software actually collects articles from directories and strips out the resource box's so the orignal author becomes invisible.

Personally I don't go looking for my articles on the web I just keep writing and moving forward and I don't think reporting them would do much good anyway.

Keep writing and avoid the negativity this is the way to go.

        All the best,

        David

If they copied your article without your resource box with it, you can issue a DMCA to their host. domainingdiva.com, about 4th post down has a sample DMCA notice you can use and instructions. Works for me with articles, blogs posts ... anything stolen that you wrote.

I've followed this very piece of advice with some of my stolen content before.

While I wouldn't spend my whole day on it, it's certainly not a complete waste of time. Don't get consumed by it, but don't ignore it passively either.

A simple notice, and my content was removed very shortly.

Best of luck in whatever you decide.

That's the main concept behind Article Directories so you can't really call it stealing- it's just wrong for them not to include the resource box when posting the articles on their sites. Clearly there's nothing you can do in this case that won't turn out to be a complete waste of time.

Actually it IS STEALING. The article directories have something called terms of service which REQUIRES they include the resource box.

The same thing happened to me! My ezine article is nowhere in sight but my article title is used on EVERY listing on the first page of google and some other pages up to page 5! This is absolutely ridiculous!

Keep writing and move on. Not worth the time to pursue most of these people. Besides, if they have to steal, that means they aren't any good at selling anything themselves, so they'll have short term gains - if that.
