keyword rankings

Hi, I have a site I want to rank for this one main keyword. (along with other similar keyword phrases). My question is, in my meta keyword tags...should I put many different keyword tags or just that one keyword tag that I'm mainly trying to rank for?

I'm asking this because I don't know if my site will have less value if I put many keywords in the meta tags vs. just 1 keyword tag which maybe would have much more value.

Any help would be grand!

  • As a start, yes, sprinkle the keyword throughout the content of your page. Not too many search engines particular care about meta keyword tags nowadays, but some of the small ones do.
  • To answer your question, put in all the keywords you want in the meta tags. That just tells the spiders that these are the terms that it is supposed to rank your website for.

  • that can help but not as effective as once was. You may want to try using articles-blogs-press releases-videos(youtube which google owns) and other google friendly sites. If you make seo friendly will optimize for google searches, social media views,and positive backlinks. Plus you skip waiting for indexing and spiders to crawl your site.
  • I was reading on this subject on the Warrior forum a few days back and apparently Meta Description is more important than Keywords and google doesn't really attend to the keywords these days.

    But like Fasteasysuccess has said you are better off linking you website with authority sites such as youtube and social media sites to get ranked quickly.
