When you are reading......

When you are reading a lot of information on something from one source, like an article or ebook or something like that, do you prefer to read it off of your computer screen or print it out and read it on paper?

Me personally, I would rather print it out if I have the means to do so that way if I need to refer to it later, I can.

Good Question... You know it depends. Most of the time I do tend to read something on screen, however if I notice that it is just too extensive then I do print it out. Staring at a screen for so long without typing anything makes my eyes blurry after a while. More often than not I do read it on the computer, but like I said there are instances that I just rather print it and set it aside for some downtime reading.

I like to create text files and copy and paste the specific information I have found to these so I can come back later and easily find that information. I'll also include a link back to the webpage or site where I found the information in case I need to revisit the site or want to use an excerpt and give them credit.

If you name the files accordingly and keep them in a directory created for your current project then the information is easily found whenever you need it. Not to mention it is in digital form so it is easy to take excerpts from if needed.

Besides, ink, paper, and electricity cost more than money in this time of energy and resources conservation

    yes, I am....

I think the way people read online documents might change once the Ipad is released and becomes mass market.

I'm not sure how or why, but know Apple have a way of inflicting social change with their new products.

For me, I use a text to speech program and I listen to it as an pod-cast. It isn't that I don't want to read it, it is becuase I learn better from listening to it.
