Rule of thumb,

Never buy a domain name with a trademarked brand in it.

I'd ask yourself if it's worth using it

Hello, I'll be honest with you, you may as well just hand over the domain to Google. Their was a story on the Internet how Apple seized a few domain names from a person who only just registered them. I doubt Apple even paid the guy for his domain names. Try and get domain names without company names in them, and never EVER create a product with a trademarked name. Hope this helps!

  I registered a name with ebay in it once (A number of years ago). I'd just hit the buy butten when it dawned on me why it was available lol. I had a cease and desist letter within a few days. They were fine when I replied saying I'd already realised it was a big no no and wasn't going to do anything with it. I certainly didn't risk trying to monetise it even for a short period of time

Here in the US trademark registration is done with the US Patent Office. Their site is United States Patent and Trademark Office You can search there.

I had a couple of information sessions with a patent attorney about 7 or 8 months ago, and learned it is a great deal more complicated than just looking up a trademark.

A lot more complicated.

One can have a trademark without it being registered with the US trademark office. In domain dispute litigation the courts have often sided with businesses even if they have not registered a name, but have actively used it.

Are you serious ... Of course you are violating Google's trademark. How could you possibly think that you are not? What possessed you to register that? I understand taking the risk, but I cannot for the life of me understand someone asking if they could be sued for this or if they are violating Google's brand. It's a no brainer. No lawyer needed.

Most likely, they will not bother to sue you. You aren't big enough fish, but they will send you a cease and desist.

For many years now blackgoogle.com is still in the current owners name that owns blackle.com I owned a few "google" domains but dropped them as it never really worked. There is still many domains with "google" in them and the using the domains for doing google searches.

So as I owned a few for a few years google didn't care so as long as you make sure you use the domain to market google adds go for it.

But then again google is like a woman that is having menopause and can change there mind tomorrow

There's no reason to be scared to death. I would not register a domain with Google in domain name.. BUT if you did, just explain and give them the domain. That's it.

I once had such domain and Google even paid me for giving it to them. (Seemed like the domain name was cool to them ;-)

The thing about trademark, it is really grey area. If I am being offensive, I am sure Google will chase after me.
