Should I Point My Backlinks to Domain or Page?

Hi,

I am planning to do article marketing and have been reading alot about that in this forum. I was wondering, how should I do it? Should I have anchor text link back to my domin (xxxx.com) or should it link to a specific page (xxxx.com/xxx-xxx-xxx)?

Most importantly, which way can i increase my PR fastest? Thanks!

Link it back to where it is appropriate.

Do you need the reader to consume more content before you move them into a sale or opt-in to your email list? If so, then send them to an article on your site.

If you are ready to make the sale, bring them to a page which presells the product, and send them onto the sales page quickly.

Why are you even worried about PR? Are you building an entertainment site, or a money making site?

I'm guessing you really want your webpages to rank highly on Google. For that, you will need pages targeting weak competition niche phrases, and then build back links to those pages from your articles, bookmarks, social media sites, etc. This will help you get pages listed highly on Google, and bring you traffic. Which of course brings us back to sending them to a sales page, which all those article pages should be pointing to.

Yes, definately link to the page that is relevant but also remember to link to both when you can. e.g. you can put more than one link in your resource box so utilize it to your advantage

      Hi,

      I think this kinda depends...

If your main domain needs more link exposure use it!

If your page needs the exposure link to there!

If both need it why not put a link to both!

      HTH!

P.S. And of course use the appropriate keywords either way!

    Hi,

I would make a start by sending article viewers to your domain then as you get more used to doing your articles you should send them to other pages on your site that will expand on what you have just written about.

So to expand a bit the idea is not to cover every point in your article but to leave the reader wanting more info, then send them to your site for that info.

    All the best,
    David
