Banner Ad Conversions on BuySellAds.com

Okay, so I took a chance on a small ad at buysellads.com to see what kind of conversion it would get. I went ahead and became an affiliate for Sonic Producer and put it up on a sound development related site. I figured it would be an effective sell because it's related to the site and the product has a Clickbank gravity of around 120.

It's been three days and around 30 hops, and no conversion. In addition, I've only had one order form impression, so I'm becoming concerned about the conversion rate of this particular ad.

Anyone have any input as to how conversions work with banner ads and Clickbank? Hopefully it will at least convert enough sales to pay for itself with some profit, and with around 10 hops per day or so, it seems reasonable that it should at least get a handful of sales.

    30 hops are simply not enough. Avg CB conversion can be 50-80 hops, 30 would be "super good"...but rather unlikely. It seems your banner doesn't get too many clicks because it only got 30 hops in 3 days?

      Hehe well I must be spoiled by my blog...it's converting penny stock alerts at around 1 in 16 hops. Guess I'm probably just paranoid.

      And well, it's only around 45 dollars for a 125 by 125 ad for a month, so it's going to add up to around 15 cents per click if I only get 10 hops per day, which in my opinion, is fantastically cheap traffic.

    What size ad did you buy? Is it a rotating ad? How many conversions do you need to be profitable? I am very likely going to buy a larger banner ad on a small site soon from buysellads.

      The ad is 125 by 125, non rotating, and I need 3 conversions to make it into profit. I think I'm safe, just frustrated because I was hoping for a bit more cash flow than this. Oh well, guess it can't always be easy.
