Question about buying email list

Hey,

I got a question about buying an email list. I've seen people offering to sell email lists with 50k emails on different sites (can't remember were) and if I were to buy a list like that would it be considered spam if I send them affiliate offers?

Obviously if you build your own list then people agree to give you their email and receive emails, but when you purchase a list of emails from people that signed up for something (and you don't know what it is) and send them affiliate offers I'm not sure if thats allowed.

So appreciate any input

This is an accepted method of getting new people looking at your products but as with anything you have to be careful, those emails could come from anywhere...the best thing to do is probably look at the joint ventures section of this forum and approach a well established member with good feedback...they won't want to sell you a dead list as that will harm their reputation.

I am not saying all others are bad, it is just that if you pay for something you want to know they are at least qualified buyers or opted into an email list to receive information

The only thing good that will ever come out of purchasing bulk emails is a lesson: to never do it again.

To answer your question: yes, it would be spam.

Be very careful find trusted site first. Reason, I also can sell you a list with 100k address just now! But, you'll never make profits.

My opinion. Never buy any lists from anyone. It is outright spamming, and if you run it from your own hosting your account can be closed down. Also, it is widely known that many people who have bought 100k lists before have had 'ZERO' response and 'ZERO' sales from using it.

My advice, set up your squeeze pages etc and start building your own lists and then work with them. Some people make decent money with lists as small as 150+. It's how you work with them that counts!

It was good that yo asked for opinions on this in here, but honestly, I'd leave well alone.

The people advising to never do this...I'm curious what companies you've used. That makes a night and day difference. Cheap will always equal low value....has anyone tried infousa, hoovers.com or nextmark?
