Need Marketing Advice for a Remodeling Website

Can you all suggest any websites or ways to market a remodeling contractor to get some solid leads quickly and inexpensively while his new site builds its Google natural search position? So far I have discovered that Adwords remodeling type phrases (even obscure ones) are $2 to $3 for page 1 listings in our metro area.

I have just added him to Craigslist, Kudzu, Google maps and Yelp but I don't expect to get profitable work from new listings in these sites. If I get former customers to review him to make him stand out, it will look like fake reviews since the dates will be new.

My housekeeper is 5 months pregnant. Her husband is a talented building contractor with 22+ years experience but his new home construction business is non-existent now since lenders aren't loaning money on luxury resort homes. He is new to our city and unknown but has a great portfolio of work and references. Want to help him get work quickly.

Start looking smaller and not at the entire Metro area. Narrow it down farther and farther into subdivisions, communities, etc.

Did you check the prices on Yahoo, Bing, Facebook?

Probably the better choice...go offline. Start talking to every real estate agency, every real estate investment company, and even make contacts with Bank Loan officers. These people know what is going on in the market, and who needs contractors. Give them flyers, pictures, and whatever else you can offer. Give them the information to go to his website.

Talk to lumber yards, Home Depot, Lowe's and other places which sell remodeling supplies. They often recommend contractors to people.

Instead of drawing people to you, start searching for people who are looking to remodel. Use TweetDeck or your favorite Twitter App and start watching for people talking about remodeling, needing a contractor, etc. Search Facebook for people talking about starting or thinking about projects. Find Facebook groups for homeowners.

These methods will take more work, but the results will be more immediate.

Wow . . that was quick and helpful. Great plan of action. I had thought about the suburbs but not subdivision and community searches. Think I will try some "communityname remodeling contractor" type phrases. Those searches are probably cheaper.

Love the idea of looking for people commenting on the internet about remodeling. Even reading what they are saying will help me target articles and information.

Also, I know loan officers and real estate agents. Hadn't really thought of them. Will pass out his website info.

      Thanks so much.
