I need help from the experts

Hey guys,

So, I have a really big decision to make and I wanted to come and ask the experts what they think so.. here I am.

Alright, so I am in a MLM business and am doing online marketing all alone without any support from an upline. I was thinking that if I joined someone else who seemed like they knew what they were doing, that I could probably succeed much quicker.

I was contacted by someone who is offering me all kinds of crazy training, trips to vegas, etc. for joining him. This sounds great except his MLM is around $3000 do enter... The MLM that I am involved with cost $250 tops.

This guy went on and on about how it is harder to sell smaller ticketed items on the internet. I am not sure how to feel about this. So do you all think that it is easier to sell higher ticket items? In this economy is seems like that would be much harder...

Also, I am very confident that I will succeed, I am extremely determined and so, do you think that it is wise to join someone else, or shouild I just believe in myself?

Alright, those are my big questions... let me know what you think!

Lauren, as a former MLM person, let me give it to you straight.

Making MLM work is all about relationships. It's probably the hardest work
in the world if you're going to be successful because most people are lazy.

So, if you want to have any success, you need to be totally hands on with
all your people such as hosting your own webinars for training.

This means...you MUST know your stuff inside and out.

You must be an expert marketer and recruiter.

    Are you?

If not...you're opening yourself up for a world of hurt.

As good as I am, I eventually got out of the MLM game because I was
losing people as quick as I was getting them. People don't want to work.

The ones who stayed in, most did nothing.

Naturally, this is just my opinion.

But it is based on way too many years of beating my head against that
MLM wall when I finally packed in my membership with Success University
and focused solely on my IM business.

It's a MUCH easier way to make a living.

    My 2 cents...for whatever they're worth.

I've got products that range in price from $10.00 to $97.00. It's easy to get excited about the higher priced sales, but I sell a lot more of the lower priced items. Last weekend I made almost $3,000 off a new $10.00 item I sent out to one of my mailing lists.

I've never been in MLM so I can't speak to that part of your problem, but the part about it being harder to sell low cost items is complete BS in my opinion. That sounds like nothing more than a selling point to get you to buy. I've never met this person, but already I don't trust him just for that comment.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

    !
that seems all mixed up if your confident in yourself you would not be asking questions like should i believe in myself ?

anyway as other have said with mlm, your constantly dragging other people backsides around and in many ways relying on the output of others / make me a million while i sit on my but because thats what the brochure said.

Probably also why its confusing because it's hard to be confident in those cellar dwellers around your ankles pulling at your heart stings to make them money / those people who don't help themselves complain, gossip, you know the type, they really are baggage in many ways.

go solo as mentioned better ways and less stress, you can then be confident in your own abilities and decisions as you move forward. Good Luck.

      Lauren,
I'll echo Steve's thoughts. I was involved in 2 MLM's about 10 years ago including working with a major US MLM company to launch UK/Europe. I found 2 problems...the first was late delivery of product and/or cheque's. These kill your business if they happen often. And the other as Steve said is the fact mlm is a treadmill you must keep running to maintain your income. So I too moved away from MLM. I much prefer using IM in other ways. Just my 2 cents.

    Hi Lauren,

While I am by no means an MLM expert. I can tell you that I have seen more fail then I have succeed. What I can tell you is that if you are already using the power of the internet to supercharge your business. You should continue to do what you are currently doing since it is working for you.

Instead of paying 3K to enter a new MLM. I would invest a little in developing an IM niche centered around your experience with MLM and using internet marketing. Sell that instead and you will be in control, determine your own success based on your efforts, and make a difference in the lives of others with your product.

There are many people out there that would welcome a product like that. I have made a career out of internet marketing and have been very successful. I encourage you to consider doing the same thing.

I wish you all the best in your decision and please keep us all posted !

I agree something sounds fishy to me too, most people in an mlm environment are lazy, or so that was my experience.

    Best of luck to you!
