Need Advice Blogger Blog To Wordpress

I am in process of transfering my blogger blog to wordpress if i export my blogger blogs details to wordpress will my blog still be intact on blogger? I want to be able to edit my Wordpress blog in my spare time while my blog is still up and running on blogger till the whole switch is complete.

Any suggestions? Is this feasible?

      Instead of exporting from Blogger, why not import to Wordpress?

        Thats what I meant sorry if it came out wrong. What about duplicate content? And i do not want to publish it till I get everything right how does your blog posts get published once you import them?

          Duplicate content penalties are only awarded if both blogs are published with exactly duplicate content. Idon't THINK your content will be published after importing but I'm not totally sure. I think there is a plugin to handle it but I can't remember the name of it now, or it may even be a standard offering in the initial installation of WP. Best idea is to test it with only one or two posts. Make a small wordpress blog with no posts, then make another blogger blog that is in no way connected with your own blog and make a couple of nonsense posts. Then just test away.
