How to go about getting Ebook reviews?

I am promoting an excellent Ebook on job search and reverse interview tactics by noted hypnotist and expert Marco Cepeda. I want to get some reviews of the Ebook to record some testimonials as well as get some links coming in to his website.

How should I go about this? Would a WSO be a good idea?

Any ideas are appreciated. If anyone reading this post is interested, please feel free to reply and mention your website. If you are a good fit, I will be happy to email the Ebook to you for free.

Thanks,
Srini

  • Any ideas, anyone? Your time is appreciated..
  • Are you able to give this book away if so you can find related forums and offer a few review copies
  • Yes I am able to give the book away for reviews. I did try posting one related forum (about.com) but not much response yet...It's only been a few hours since I posted so perhaps it's too early.

It's a really good Ebook so I am hoping to find better ways to get some reviews on blogs, etc. but can't think of a way to get that going. Writing to bloggers directly is just really time consuming and not many respond thinking it's spam...

    • You can also give this ebook for review to few reputable members on the WF.
This way you will get quality reviews.

  • Ok, I posted a thread in the JV section. Hope it'll have takers.

If you have any other ideas on how to reach out to more people for reviews, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks,

  • Well, Srini, I'm not sure that Warrior Forum is the best place to get reviews for a book about getting a job.

I - for one - would run screaming away, if somebody should offer me a job. No thanks!

But in general, if you want reviews, you should contact people who are in your niche. So in your case it would be people who help other people finding a job, or maybe unimployed people, searching for a job, etc.
  • I think forums. Yet about.com?

How about forums where people ask or go looking for jobs or for interview help. They would be your target market, thus read and use the info. contained within the book?
  • Srini, I would be interested in reviewing this type of book. My signature lists my website. You can also pm me for any questions related to my site as well.

    • First, I would recommend that you get testimonials/reviews from both experts and from everyday customers.

To get expert reviews we use a formula for every new ebook we launch which involves...

      1. Researching authority site owners and good candidates for affiliates/partners
      2. Contact them first to praise or comment about their website/online business
      3. Mention that we have put together a product that we really think will help audience "X" and as they are obviously a key authority figure in that market, you would really appreciate getting their feedback on the project. (Often we do this with early drafts, even before the ebook is completed)
      4. Most will accept, then get them to commit to a date by which they will review (not doing this will mean they will let it slide)
      5. A few contacts around the date committed to will bring back reviews from most.
      6. If the review is positive, then thank them, pull out a quote or words that they have submitted into an ideal testimonial and send it back to them asking permission to post
      7. If they say yes, then I go the next step which is to offer them special affiliate status - get them signed up and work out how they want to promote.
      8. If they do NOT give you a good review, then I work with them to understand why which sometimes gives you some good ideas for improvements or follow-on products

This method is highly effective - and works for many niches and works for getting both testimonials and partners.

Finally - I always grow my testimonials/reviews by sending a follow up set of questions to every customer by autoresponder 5-10 days after they have downloaded or received by book. The response can be low, but even at 10% you can collect dozens of testimonials/reviews in no time - and it's all automated.
