This Could increase Your Conversions by Upward of 35% ...

Hi Guys

I am working on increasing my income in small steps; and recently, I came across the Belcher Button. Now, it is not entirely something I had never come across before - I can certainly recall Sales Pages that have used it - but I have never tested it myself. So this is going to be one of my next tests.

Now in case you have never heard of the Belcher Button, I came across an excellent video that explains exactly why it is important. So first take a look here ...

Belcher Button | Perry Belcher Top Converting But Button

OK - and now if you want to try it out for yourself, I have found another excellent (free) resource that allows you to create your own Button. So go here when you want to create your own ...

The UBB Ultimate Belcher Button Wizard | TroyNotes

Finally, if anyone here has actually used and/or properly tested the Belcher Button, I would be very interested to hear about your results. Perry Belcher says you can get conversion increases of upwards of 35% ... and, if you read his Blog, he says that they can be well-above 35% too!

So do let me know what you think about this and please do share your own experience including stats if you have them.

I used this button. It does help it seems, but like everything else, it seems that people get to used to it in a while and it loses it touch.

I thought that it was such an UGLY button. That was my main comment, I couldn't get over how ugly that button looks, especially on an "all white" web page background. Or mixed in with a webpage that is another OPPOSITE color.

I thought that was tacky, but then someone told me "oh no, this converts" and showed me what you just posted. I still think it's absolutely hideous, but apparently it's effective, so I can't complain.

Just interested - did you watch the video explaining why it is the way it is?

The video does not change the fact that I find it hideous. LOL. But that is because I am looking at the button in context to the rest of a website.

IF I were buying a product, I likely wouldn't notice that, and wouldn't notice that it was so hideous, however.

He also doesn't explain why the text is blue. He says it gains trust, but doesn't explain the studies there.

I do agree with you that the thing is ugly, in fact he does actually say that in the video. But it will be interesting to see if anyone here could provide some first-hand experience on using it. I can put up with it being ugly if it increases my conversions by a decent and measurable amount.

Of course, I will conduct my own test on this, but it strikes me that there will be people here who have already done this, so it also would be great to get some comments from them.

As a creator of the wizard. Yes it has some of the advantages

One it's big+obvious. Many sites choose to make the button blend in to the site too well, basically people miss it. I've seen many people make buttons way to small/unreadible, so the neither see it or click on it easily. It also looks like a button I have seen some really well designed sites that it's hard to differentiate the button from what's not a button (e.g. 3d logos/icons).

Two it uses several attention getting devices. People reading sales pages are in a sort of skimming trance. Which is why I wanted a animated wipe affect to get peoples attention, and some feedback when they interact with it that hey yes it is paying attention to you.

Three the payments help I think by one being images they are interesting vs text, if it says paypal/visa etc triggers "oh i can do this without real money"

I don't think it's a one size fits all cure. The proper thing is to split test different elements. I've tested it in a few pages, and the performance varies on several things. "Add To Cart" effectiveness is depending on how congruent it was to the sales page, the buyers location in the cycel and the form of traffic. e.g. for CPV traffic I don't think it's obvious enough by itself, and "add to cart is too aggressive for a presale" Same goes for PPC straight to a sale page. Generally need a more gradual presale. On a sales page following a video presell it works great.

Will be releasing a way to synchronize the appearance of these call to actions buttons to video soon.

    Hey Troy

Just recently, I ran a WSO and one person posted in the thread that they could not find mu Buy Now Button. By the time I saw the comment, another Warrior had already replied that the button was at the bottom of my sales page underneath the price ... erm ... exactly where you would expect it to be.

Now, a day or so later, I got an email from my website contact form asking the same question. So I guess this might have been from the same person - though possibly not. But anyway, there is solid evidence that some people were actually having problems finding my button.

So, I decided it was time to use the Belcher Button. I replied to the email of course informing the person where the Button was, but I also edited the sales page and swapped it for the Belcher. I bet they got a big surprise when they revisited the sales page to find that BIG Button right there (lol). They were probably wondering how they could possibly have missed it in the first place.

Anyway, I am slowly changing my sales pages to using this button. I now have at least some evidence that it will improve my conversions; and, you know something, I am beginning to like the look of it too.

    Will
