Wordpress Thank You Page - Virality (Real Word)

Hi !

I'm launching an album soon of my own music, fully written, produced, recorded etc from home i.e. the office... I've spent years working on IM, cracked it, and totally forgot that I had neglected the fact that I've been a working musician for 5 years, was in the process of writing a body of music for other people to hear and I've kept them waiting for a while.... It's long overdue ! Anyway, it's nearly done now

Now, I'm going to be giving this album away, as download only, for free and using some cool IM techniques to keep the fans, facebook group etc all interlinked, and I have a simple question regarding my unbelievably sub-par knowledge of html within Wordpress.

On the download page (after an opt-in, obviously ), underneath the download link, I want to put a 'send this offer to 5 friends and get this uber cool bonus for free'. Is there a way I can get 5 text boxes for the person to put their friends emails in, and send out a set email to the 5 referals directing them to the squeeze page ? Also I don't really want any of the unnecessary fiddling with with double opt-ins, confirmation links etc... Literally an email popping into their friends inbox saying "Hey Lauren, Steve just downloaded this album, check it out here"
Is there also a way that aweber, or the plugin can monitor whether they put 2 emails or 4, and not offer the even cooler free stuff until they've shared it to all 5 ?

If anyone knows the procedure and various re-directs, plugins (?), coding + aweber tech I would need in order to implement this, or direct me to it, I would be very grateful indeed if you could share.

    Sounds to me like you need Frank Kern's plugin that he was giving away to promo List Control.

      Sweet, I didn't download that as there was a storm being kicked up on here about scything and how it wasn't as legit as Kern was making out. Is he still promoting this does anyone know ? I know the launch has ended but if I can get my hands on the plug (anyone remember the name) I'll give it a blast.

      Sweet ! Thanks Tyson, I was already going to go with the old *Share this on Facebook* Route, but tweeting also has the potential to make this grow really quickly.

        It's down now that List Control closed it's doors. I downloaded it and would be glad to give it to you along with the two videos Frank made about it. I've already got PMs requesting it. PM me if you're interested.

      Although there aren't plugins that do exactly what the OP is asking, he can
      use the Add to Any plugin to basically do the same thing.

      WordPress › AddToAny: Share/Bookmark/Email Button WordPress Plugins

      Just put the Add to Any button underneath the download link and ask
      people to either post to their Facebook/Twitter accounts or email
      their Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or AOL email contacts to get the free bonus.

      You won't be able to re-direct people to the second page where they
      can download the bonus the way you're thinking, but there are ways
      around it.

      If you aren't too worried about people who don't share yet still get access
      to the bonus, you can just put a link underneath the Add to Any button
      that gives access to the bonus.

      Sure, you'll get people who don't use the button but still download the extra
      bonus... but you'll also get lots of free referral traffic by putting the button
      there.

      In my mind, the benefits outweigh the problems but you'll have to make your
      own call.

    There are free and paid, Tell-A-Friend scripts available to use. Just be careful with them as the potential for spammers to destroy your host/ip provider is big. These spammers come by and utilize your script to blast emails out and you get nailed for the spam complaints.

    The "Share This" social plugins mentioned above work a lot better (IMHO) and are safer. That way people don't just have to share by email, they can also share by Twitter, Facebook or whatever.
