Does anyone know a good word to pdf converter?

I am trying to convert a word doc to pdf and I can't seem to find one that doesn't watermark the file. Does anyone know of a free converter that does this? I only need to do one, so I don't really want to buy one. Thanks!

    Hi Bryan,

Try CutePDF. You can find a copy at CutePDF - Create PDF for free, Free PDF Utilities, Edit PDF easily;..

I use their free version and create all my PDFs through that. It works like a printer, so when you've installed it and you're ready to convert the file, go to 'Print' then choose CutePDF from the printer menu.

    Hope that helps.

Google Docs can do this. And also you can download a PDF printer like PDF Converter — #1 Free PDF Creator — PrimoPDF

    Bryan,

OpenOffice can read word documents and output them as PDF - its free so you wont have to pay. Just load up the document and under "File" you should see "Export as PDF"

Open Office should do the trick. Works like a charm.

      I strongly agree.

I had one on my computer that really worked well but I never knew where it came from or what it was called and when I did a full system reload I couldn't find it. (It was an actual export not a printer.) After trying a bunch of others I finally settled on Open Office. It's free, easy and it will retain your links.

Yes, open office is the key, free, and really, really simple to use. Load the word file and then hit the export as PDF tab and bingo there it is. It also keeps any hyperlinks you had, in place which is something to watch out for with other programs. Good luck, Ed.

I've used this PDF converter "plugin" for WORD for years
now pdf 995: create PDF documents easily for free

No need to go outside of WORD to convert the document.
You simply "print" the document as a PDF.

Download Open office if you haven't got it yet.

open your word doc using open office (writer) and use it to export to pdf.

It's free and comes with other interesting tools which can augment if not replace the costly word processing software available.

The best thing about open office is that it will keep your hyperlinks in the exported PDF file which is useful if you want to embed links in the document.

    All the best,
