Newbie affiliate needs help!

I have joined an affiliate program and through them received a set of three affiliate links. One link is for the free trial, one is a long sales page and the last is an order page. There are no instructions on what to do with these links.
My question is what DO I do with them? I have tried to copy the pages into the site that I am building but that didn't work. I wanted to make my sight look similar to the products but still different and use the established opt in and sales letters but have NO clue how.
Please help a dumb newbie.

It sounds like they are giving you 3 options in which to send your traffic to - the freebie, the sales page or the order page.

You have to decide which page you want your traffic to go to. If you are basically doing a sales page, then send them maybe to the order page or the freebie. I would advise, however, to leave the selling to the vendor, with your job being a pre-sell to get them to the sales page.

Now, what to do with them? You will use these as links for your traffic to click on and go to the vendors site, whether its the sales page or the others. You can paste these as simple links on your site or actually make them anchor text, which requires a tiny bit of html knowledge.

What kind of site do you have where you will be getting traffic to?

Thanks for the help. The site that I am building is a standard site not a blog site. My strategy is since the product which is a piece of software is already being searched on and there is very little competition to create the free trial opt in page on my site. That way they get pre-sold through a video and read on after the video to the free trial form. I am looking to do article marketing and ppc to as well as SEO to drive traffic to the site.
In order to collect email addresses I am going to set up a squeeze page that will offer them free bonus content before taking them to the main site.

Build a list. Then you can send them all of the offers over time.

That might work, you'll have to test it a few different ways once you start driving traffic to see what works best.

Does the vendor have an affiliate resources section on their site? If they do, they may have some things you can give away for free or some other bonus type things for you to use.

I am hoping the squeeze page will help me build my list. Should I look at setting up a blog site instead?

Yeah, definitely build a list. Frank Kern recently gave away his "Good Karma List Machine" for free which allows you're subscribers to get a bonus for referring more people to your list.

For example: you put up a page or video, the person subscribes to get it, then if they like it they can refer people to your list and once they get so many referrals it gives them access to your second page or video.

Here's where Frank's using it: http://www.getcoreinfluence.com/?ref=CKqiYTjJiXnExrmN <- see, that's the referral link I got when I signed up. When people registered via that link I got one point which got me 1 step closer to watching Core Influence 2.

It's no longer available but I downloaded it and would be glad to give it to you. Just a note: It ONLY works with Aweber. PM me or email me at if you're interested.

And in order to build a list you'll need to drive traffic. Jeff Jonhson's coming out with a course called Traffic Voodoo, but you should at least check out Jeff's youtube channel. He's got tons of FREE videos where he walks you through different methods of getting traffic.

    - - - - - - - - - - -

And just remember, getting started is half the battle. Work hard and stick to it and you'll see results.

    Hope this helps.

    **EDIT**
I've been getting a ton of PMs about Frank's Good Karma List builder. I can't reply to your PMs because I don't have 50 posts yet. Please include your email when you PM me otherwise I won't be able to send you Frank's files.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I do have another question for you. Is there a way to sent traffic to a squeeze page on your site for say a free bonus but make it so that they can't give that page to anyone else?
