Since the visual content is not something important here (as far as I see) you could make it a video of yourself speaking in front of camera...

however I'm guessing by your quick reply, you didn't watch much or any of the video?

the powerpoint style video was chosen as I had a lot of stats to cover and it's a lot easier for people to comprehend by "seeing the stats", as apposed to me just saying them.

I did watch it for a minute or two and got bored at some point.

It's possible to combine powerpoint style video with yourself speaking too...

The Pink hurts my eyes
I only made it about 1:50 into the video (how long is this thing anyways) but I bet I counted 20 "uhs" and "uhms".
Seemed way too slowly paced.

Just my humble opinion.

Congrats on getting your page up, but...

The script needs to be MUCH tighter; it just ambles along and most visitors aren't going to stick around for more than the first minute or so.

That pink is a bit painful

On a personal note, I always like to see how long the video is before I start watching.

Hi, Ernie. I watched/listened to the first 60 seconds and honestly found it pretty tedious. You rambled around and after that first minute, I still had no idea what you were promoting. I really think you should script or at least outline your voice over. Most people will give up listening much earlier than the 60 seconds I gave it.

Also a lot of extraneous squeeks and background noises (artifacts) in the audio. If you want a professional sound, you might want to consider a quieter place to record.

Not the reaction I was hoping for lol...but thanks for the feedback.

The video goes for 9-10mins and I guess I was kidding myself hoping most people would watch it the whole way through..

Perhaps text is better than a video to explain a lot of info at once....

Yeah, you say the same thing over and over for the first two minutes. Nothing exciting or worth waiting for. I'd suggest you make it a little more compelling or you're going to lose people quickly.

I would agree with most on the pink and I also only watched a minute or 2 of it..

I would tighten up on the page and have more user friendly colors such as blue/gray/beige/ and other lighter colors that are easy on the eyes.

The video seems streched and I am looking at it under 800x600 resolution so the images in it are blurred.

I'm going to do a more text based page and perhaps make a really short quick to the point video.

Hey Ernie,
Come on dude don't give up .... I am no video person but I have been playing with it a litle..

This is the 3rd video I created using camtasia Studio

Article Publisher :: advertising, website, make money, affiliates, earn, articles, profits

I personally think it's ok but it is not perfect or amazingly great.

You just have to keep on trying and not give up.. Tweak it as you get feedback..

All the critiques are well founded so I won't belabor the point. An observation though...

The title of your post is "My 1st real video attempt!"

If everyone quit after their first attempt, there wouldn't be as many people successfully using video as there are. And there are lots of people doing it.

I would encourage you not to give up but rather take the excellent advice and feedback posted here and make your 2nd attempt.

I think you'll find it to be better than your first!

Don't give up on the video. Just script it all out so you know what you are going to say so that you make compelling points early. You have to keep the watchers/listeners interested. Your basic idea isn't bad, you just need to invest more time in producing it.

I won't comment on the video itself because I felt much the same as everyone else who posted...

However, I will comment on something that may be even more important...

The optin box at the bottom of the skin. It would be easy for visitors to miss it. Its just not obvious enough and the name and email font and color are bad.

I would remove the giveawaybuddy.com graphic above the optin boxes and instead in a large bold maybe black sans serif font with an arrow pointing down next to each word place NAME and EMAIL above each box. Make it obvious what you want them to do and you will boost the response. Of course that is only if you plan on using that skin.... though its a neat looking skin you may want to test a non graphical simple approach as well... sometimes graphics can distract.

Make your video short, compelling, and to the point with a powerful call to action.
