My One Little Ad Per Week Or This?

by admin Administrator

Can I ask a question?

What would you prefer here, my one little ad per week or something like this:

Talkgold HYIP, Investment & Money Forum

?

I'm being serious :-)

Anyone who thinks I should "Not" run one ad per week here is probably on the verge of insanity, not a marketer, and is politely asked to exit this forum and not come back if it really bothers them 'that' much.

Everyone who has ever seen my google stats says something like "Dude, I'd run one ad PER DAY, to hell with one per week"....

This post really isn't needed as I know most of you could care less about an ad on a MARKETING forum but those few who gripe about one simple ad really get under my skin :-)

    Wow! LOL!

Hope you don't think I was griping - just trying to help figure out a solution! :-) I'll be good, I'll be good; just don't subject me to that again! My poor eyes..

No don't worry, :-) It was hard keeping a straight face posting this thread. It's really funny if you think about it..

Allen, you could run 1 ad an hour and I would still be here. The sheer amount of useful FREE information this site has to offer well exceeds the miniscule annoyance of a OTO.

Hehe... that is awful! As far as running one ad (or many) on your own site, you do what's best for you. I think most of us realize that you operate a successful form site for a reason. - Russ

      Allen,
You can run as many as you want and it won't bother me a bit. I will probably even buy some of the products.

The truth is, a few years ago I was doing this as a hobby when I stumbled across this forum. Within a couple of months, after reading, learning, and applying what I learned here, I moved to full-time status, and two years ago, packed up and moved from Minnesota (which I hated) back to Kentucky, which I love. While I've never met you, I credit you and others on this forum, with giving me the know-how to be completely independent and live anywhere in the country that I want to live.

Now, based on more that I've learned here, I am branching out into some other niches.

      Thank You,
      Barry

    Allen,
Ads dont bother me at all .. Heck run them dude.

I say one per "DAY" would be good.. Forums flooded with ads such as the example you gave is what bothers me.

You could even run sponsored ads.. How much Allen for a sponsor ad ? I got $50 right now can you help a warrior out ...

        An ad a week !!???

Allen, I think you're off your rocker!

I wouldn't come back here if you had an ad a decade!!

Listen, I'm been on-line now for over a fortnight now, so I'm pretty clued up. And I'm sick and tired of being sold to. Everywhere you look, they're telling you to buy this, buy that, subscribe here, sign your life away there. It's cost me a fortune.

I want nice clean, ad-free sites. I want the top information, from the top guys, for free, without any hint whatsoever of being sold to, EVER ! And for the life of me I can't see why you can't deliver that.

None of my sites have ads on them and I like it that way - no shop, no products, nothing to buy, nada!

        Yours respectfully,

        Mr Angry

P.S. Well, I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment, my wife's left me, my house has gone and I can't afford to feed my dog. So has anyone any ideas how to monetise my site?

I nearly posted the above without the disclaimer, but have been reminded recently that there's obviously some real stupid people on this forum. I'm just glad they're not the majority.

    lol what a contrast!

I think it's ridiculously funny that people want to say something about what ads you place where on your own site.

Btw, people don't just gripe to you Allen, they also grip in the smaller networks.

Maybe this thread will slow them down a bit and bring them back into a positive realm.

    Thanks!

Allen, this is the age old story of marketers bitching about being marketed
to and it's NEVER going to stop.

I have no problem with ads or anything else you do as long as I have the
best place for information to come to on the whole Internet.

Anybody who doesn't get that can, as you so politely stated, exit stage left.

Frankly, I was glad to see you start monetizing the forum when you finally did. I'd much rather see a little advertising than have the forum disappear or be plastered in adsense, affiliate ads, or CPA offers.

I went to thestreet.com last night to read some Jim Cramer stuff, and there is so much friggin' advertising there, it's hard to find the content. I'm not exaggerating. It was very frustrating.

Allen, these ads really don't bother me!...

(At the end of the day, you should be able to market products on your own forum!)

Why not install the plugin (Or turn the feature on!) which will 'insert' a sponsored ad after the first post of each thread? Now I know you probably don't want to go doing that, but again it's only a thought! - You've probably looked into it actually, but the old forum had it and I don't think anyone objected to them!

(I like my plugin's don't ya think? lol)

Just out of curiosity, what WOULD a sponsored ad run for?

        I'd guess about 2K.

Am I in the ball park or still way too low. I'm talking about a one time OTO
the first time somebody logs in after it runs.

Whatever the price would be, the marketer would have to figure how many
people would see it, what his expected conversion rate would be and
ultimately what his profit after expenses would be.

Unfortunately, a lot of marketers don't take the time to analyze this
stuff and just blindly throw money at advertising. Then they wonder why
        they're going broke.

They're not accepted at all so I haven't really thought about it. It's far more valuable to me to be an affiliate.

Plus, it works out for the product owner as well since if the offer doesn't fly they aren't out anything.

Ah, I see. Then you must have a VERY careful selection process of what
products you choose to promote. I'd think it was about as thorough as

Maybe a Joint Venture Sponsored Poisition would be a good idea...

Create an Application with certain requirements that must be met before the application can even be sent in for discussion/approval.

Since it would require an application to even be considered only ones that would know anything about it being a joint venture sponsored position would be you and the party that applied.

Hey it's an idea anyways that I am sure can be expanded upon... Like Allen Says needs ideas from a non-marketer web developer like me ..lol

I would vote for weekly, opposed to daily, as many Warriors probably don't visit the forum everyday, and weekly gives everyone the opportunity to see what is being promoted. I usually do not buy on the first time seeing an ad, I must see it several times for it to work its way through my skull and into the gray matter.

The ad comes up for me every time I open the WF, and this is good. That gave me a little time to think about it, and after looking at the present ad, asking a few quesitons, I bought.
