Web Conference comparison

With all the different ways to market, a popular option to build your list AND sell products is to conduct a web conference. What are the best options i.e. who provides the best conference capabilites available for the cost?

A few that spring to mind are gotomeeting and webex. Talkshoe might fit your situation, and I've tried tinychat and another one from "great america conferencing". I come back to webex for the balance of functionality, compatibility and price. They did an upgrade some months ago and the interface is much nicer than it was (still quirky, but better).

I looked into GoToMeeting, it seems to be the most popular among current IMer's who are using this method, but the cost seems pretty high. I am looking for something that can hold a few hundred people, but not charge me a fee when I am not using it, perhaps a one time use system or a conference room that is already a part of a larger system

It really depends on your budget and how much you will be using it. There are some free options out there that's sufficient but do lack some features paid versions offer. There's a comparison chart of features between webex and gotomeeting that's helpful if you are debating between the two.

The best web conference room I have ever seen or used extensively is Vereconference.

It has an interactive whiteboard, lazer pointer, screen casting, synchronized browsing so that you can bring any website into the room, ability to upload and demo with PowerPoint presentations, recording of both audio and visual, and I love to play music.

I remember the days back in the beginning of my IM career when we went to really shabby low budget free conference rooms (I won't mention the name) - and it was like a different world -

The cost of Vereconference is very reasonable, scalable and with no contracts beyond month to month. It's all good.

I keep trying to think of excuses to bring people into my room because I love being in there.

Yea I really like the free stuff myself. I dont have the need for a large room at this point so the free 5 seat room that I get with my VT Gold system is just right to take clients and team members in to help or train them.

I'm a fan of Gotomeeting/Gotowebinar myself (which I know you said you looked into), and if I remember correctly they'll give you a 30 day free trial. If you're doing regular webinars, you should have no trouble earning the $99 monthly fee by the time the 30 days are up.

I have noticed over the last six months that many people are moving away from gotomeeting and I must say I prefer using a Vereconference room, its a great tool to use when helping others build their business. Is also easy to change the size of your room,if you need a large room for a particular occasion you can just purchase one for a month.

I first tried Veretekk's Vereconference outside of attending many of the Veretekk's trainings and meetings when a friend and I would get together in his conference room to help each other with certain projects we were working on. I loved it immediately. It was so easy to use on the spur of a moment and made what ever we working on a breeze.

We so could so easily switch back and forth as far as who had control of the room it made it so easy to help each other when we were stuck and all the features made it a breeze.

Now Veretekk offers a free 5 seat room so I got my own without any additional charges too cool! Like David said if you need a larger room its very easy to upgrade without long term commitments. I am very happy with Vereconference!

Thanks Geekology, that was an interesting read, been doing some research on all of those and Vereconference that the others have been suggesting, it not only sounds like a conference room in the traditional sense but also a good place to have affiliate and downline meetings in.

GotoMeeting and Webex are fine Webinar Rooms. Although I do prefer Vereconference because of the Interaction you have with your Guest. The Email link that allows someone to just click the link and we have a 5 seat Room with a Power Point presentation. Excellent when your trying to explain a support Issue or just getting to know someone.

    • I am the CEO of Vereconference and my comments will surely be biased, but with that said, I couldn't find what I was looking for so we built it.

If I may be so bold as to put a link here to be able to log into a room so you can experience the room it in no way should be consider anymore than just that.

When you sign up for the free account and log into the back office, the pricing structure is there.

I have tried GoToMeeting and I can say that it's great. It has a good features that enable the user to have unlimited meetings. It's just that the cost is not economical and requires downloads. Found a site called 321meet that actually lets you conduct meetings (which basically means screen sharing) without any download and still for free.
