Help Naming a Fundraiser For a Little Girl

Hello Warriors,

I'm trying to come up with a name for a fundraiser that will raise money to help the parents of a four-year-old little girl named Zoe (Zoey) raise money to pay for her medical bills.

They just found out this past Tuesday that she has a malignant brain tumor and is going to need lot's of medical care. We're trying to come up with something catchy having her name in it, but "Z" words are hard to come up with as in "Zest for Zoe".

Any of you marketing warriors have any ideas what we can call this thing. I appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

I'd wouldn't worry about "catchy" but instead would go for descriptive. A lot of businesses have gone for catchy only to have a business with a descriptive name outperform them.

    Help Save Zoe

That's probably what I'd call it. It's simple, it tugs at the heart strings, and it headlines the need.

Thanks so much, Dennis. We came up with "Moments With Zoe." It's going to be a website as well as several fundraising events and you're so right about the catchy thing so we went for descriptive. Thanks again.

      • Hi Jessica,

Have you got a link for the website?

I'm sure there are plenty of warriors who would add it to one of their sites just to give it some juice if it needs it.

Also do you have a facebook fan page that people could join. When I saw your post I was thinking of a fundraising campaign called Zoe's $1 world tour. Some kind of e-mail that goes round the world with a paypal button or something where anyone can contribute $1 (or more) to the fund. Backed up with some video it would hopefully buy the level of treatment she needs.

An article that had some social bookmarking about the site and the $1 world tour that we could all add to the clicks to try and make it as viral as possible.

Anyone got any ideas about how we could do some good this weekend for this little girl?

          Brilliant!

You might want to check that it's legal though. There may be some criteria that has to be passed before you do it. I'm just wondering out loud, I have no idea really. Just wouldn't want to see anyone get into trouble for not knowing some stupid legal technicality.

You're right Dennis. I have to admit I've got no idea on legalities. Maybe someone can point this in the right direction.

That could easily be solved by saying they bought a letter from Zoe or something like that or a book about her ordeal.... Well I would of thought but ofc, don't take my word on legal reasons.

A FaceBook fan page would be ideal for this sort of campaign and would immediately confirm it's legitimacy by all the people contected to it. Instead of putting a Paypal donation button in any email though how about using a Plegdie button on the website and any other site connected to it. It doesn't have the business-like connotations of Paypal and the actual button shows a live update, as a horizontal bar, of the amount donated so far. You can put this button anywhere too.
