Neil V's Amazon course is a must-have and worth every penny of its 67$ price as I bought it!

Basically you need to buy an ISBN number to list your
thing on Amazon. Of course there are a lot of tricks to
getting traffic and buyers for your item.

Also, you can check out Tanner Larsons's WSO "Amazon Publishing Secrets". It's very comprehensive and well worth reading.

CreateSpace is a nice way to self publish if you want to step an ebook, video, etc up to a physical book or DVD. They will create it on demand, which essentially means that its printed as they are ordered by the customers so that you don't have to pay anything upfront. Createspace.com is owned by Amazon. They will also give you an ISBN number with a barcode for your book or video (Or mixed media) if you don't already have one.

Another great on-demand service is Kunaki. I've used them many times for creating & distributing physical products on demand with no up-front costs. I can produce a DVD for around $1.00 plus about 4.75 shipping.

They will also generate an ISBN for you which will be automatically inserted on your cover. Both services have a cover designer of sorts and a way to upload your product too, which make things easier.

Anyway, that's a couple of ideas that might help get you pointed in a positive direction.

I co-sign on Createspace. I used them when I converted my ebook into a "real" book, and the process was painless and inexpensive. They also got me listed on Amazon in 5 days (they'd told me it would be 3 weeks) and now they have added International Distribution as an option, so my book is now selling worldwide. Their staff is knowledgeable and courteous, which was a tremendous bonus in the beginning when I was slamming them with all types of "newbie" questions. For the few dollars they charge, it is worth it to join the Pro plan. I recouped my entire investment in Pro in the first month of sales, so it's been all gravy ever since.

The Kindle marketplace is pretty cheap. I wonder if there's much profit in it once fees are deducted.

Yeh, that was my thought too, i think this new sales platforms all the top companies bring out, are more of a sales option to compete with each other, to grab the sellers?

Who knows, maybe to be successful in Kindle you have to have a really good info product aimed at the right audience to make the fees insignificant?
