Have you already built up a relationship with your list? Before you sell them anything, it's worth offering them some great content for free - in order to build trust and rapport. Perhaps take some tips from the ebook which would help presell them on the stuff from the ebook, or take an idea from the book and make a video about it - and then direct your list to this.

I personally wouldn't try and sell to any of my lists without first giving them some great free content, but everyone is different.

As far as how to sell the ebook to them, perhaps consider creating a special offer for your list where they can get the ebook at a discount rate for a limited time. That way you will create some scarcity for your offer and look like you're giving them a better deal (which you should always try and do for your subscribers)

Sorry if this is stuff you've already heard, but just my take on it.

      Hey James,
Thanks for your help. Yeah, I was not flat out planning on just broadcasting something to my list. I actually give them free information, and this would be a related product which i would put in like follow up message 3 or 4 or something like that.

I might just promote a clickbank product, but i was thinking about how exactly I could sell them a book. I have the sales page, and the emails set up, just unsure as far as them making the purchase, then providing them a link to the ebook.

Would I setup something using pay pal, and then when purchase has been made send them an email with ebook attached to it?

I use joomla and butterfly marketing for that.
    Are relatively easy to set.
Or you can go on affiliate programs

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here goes.

    You will need these links:
    a) sales page
    b) payment processor payment link
    c) thank you / download page link
    d) product download link

You will email your list with a sales page link (a). When they click they will go to your sales page. Your sales page will have the link to make the payment (b). They click and purchase. The buyer will then be sent to your thank you page (c). This page will have the product down load link (d).

When you list the product on clickbank / paypal, you will need to enter a ty page / dl page link (c). The buyer is automatically sent there after a successful purchase.

    Hope this helps

Just continuing from what Gasen said - if you're not using any software like DLGuard, RAP etc, which manages your download links and redirection, you will need to specify the thankyou/transaction successful page in Paypal.

You can do this when you create a payment button within their system. It's not the most secure way to offer your downloads, but should work fine for your requirements.

Remember also, if you want to build a list of buyers - to ensure you collect their name and email after purchase. You could do this on the thank you page and ask them to enter their name and email in order to get their purchase - and then have this delivered as the confirmation via autoresponder, or just make it optional - it's up to you.

I hope that helps clarify things further.
