How Much Would You Pay For a Text Link?

I run a sports site at CLDsport Sports News and Articles. The site is still in it's infancy, but the overall goal is to produce a profit by selling advertising.
I plan to define our advertising strategies in the near future, when the site is more popular. At the moment however the site is in it's infancy.
I have just received an email from a advertising broker who wants to place a clients ad, as a text link, on the site.
The broker wishes to pay a annual fee for the link. I'm definitely interested, if nothing else it will enable me to 'test the water'.
But, he has asked me to provide prices, but I'm struggling to come up with a figure.
So, how much would you pay to place a year-long text link on the site. It's currently a PR1 and Alexa rank of 503,236.
