confused about keywords...

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi there, Warriors!

If I investigate keyword competition on Google, what should I wrap my keywords with when I type them in Google's search field: brackets or quotes?

I'm a little confused. Others say brackets must be used, yet there are those who advise that quotes must be used.

Aaargghh!!!

Well, "quotes" does search for exact matches doesn't it? I've never used (these) before. I always use "those".

That's a good point you raise. I have likewise read where some say brackets, others say quotes. I personally just use words.

with quotes is targeted and without quotes is broad.

Quotes is much more used.

I can see the confusion here.

If you're referring to Google search box, use quotes:

e.g. "car repair"

If you're doing adwords campaign, you can use both:

e.g.

"car repair" - Match Exact Phrase
[car repair] - Exact match
