How many of you warriors are full time imer's

Hey guys,

I just had the thought, I wonder how many warriors are full time with IM. Meaning no job, just IM for all your financial needs.

It'd be interesting to see. Inspirational for new people as well.

I've been full time for about 2 years.

Andrew

I quit my job back in early 07. Ive been full time since then. Last month was my best month yet, and Im hoping to triple that within the next 3 months.

Since becoming involved in IM, Ive become addicted to sitting in cafes all day.

I am and loving the lifestyle. Every time I go out and see people
wiping down tables, cleaning toliets, taking the rubbish out or
serving customers I feel very grateful.

I got asked today "why are you working on a public holiday?" I
answered, "because I love what I do and when you are at work
on the sunny days I'm laying by the pool or beach".

Awesome! Remember asking the barista in a cafe I used to go to about this dude who seemed to always be there. He was always driving different, very expensive cars each day. Expensive looking suits etc. Barista said he was in property development - very rich. Said now he likes having coffees in cafes!

As a matter of fact, I'm getting laid off from my day job sometime in May or June. I've known that I was getting laid off since October of 2009 and knew what I had to do to go full time. Everybody at work wonders why I haven't transferred to a new department. I kindly smile and tell them that I have other plans. (which actually pisses them off a bit)

I'm making pretty good money online right now and it's building bigger and bigger every day! I haven't looked for another job and don't plan on it.

              Full time, here I come!!!

I don't think you can collect unemployment if you get fired, so you need to get laid off. Find a way to have your day job run on auto pilot and show them how much money they could save by getting rid of you. But you never know, they could promote you instead.

Actually you can indeed collect unemployment if you get fired. If you can prove wrongful dismissal, you can collect. They'll ask you why you were dismissed, what problems either on your end or your employer's end led to your termination, etc.
But it's not easy getting fired abruptly unless you commit violence or theft or something and you obviously don't want to do that.

Voluntary layoff? I've known a few people who have taken a voluntary layoff that was welcomed to save money. Have you considered it? It might be worth looking into

                  ---

On my note, I was laid off in June 09, and when I realized that I was not going to be able to get back into a similar position, I made up my mind that I wasn't going back to work. That I was going to sit at home, or wherever I wanted to work, and do the things that I wanted to do for work. IM was the best decision ever because I can dip my fingers into any niche I find interesting if I choose, and the "work" is all elbow grease that I enjoy doing. When I don't enjoy doing it anymore, I suppose I will outsource it, but as of now I do all of my own work, full-time, and have no plans for taking a "job" unless it really peaks my interest.

Congrats to everyone that has been able to do this for 10-12 years, that success must feel good.

                  cheers

Figured out in 2005 that being your own boss is the way to go, plus was sick of making all the money for the company and not for myself. Learned everything I could and still continue to. So from end of 2005 on been living my dream full time.

I've been full time since 2003.

I was studying law at the time and I remember my lecturer saying "you can live a good life working as a lawyer, however, if you want to be rich, you should go into business."

That statement, and reading the Robert Kyosaki books, were instrumental in me changing my life to what it is today.

I worked a lot of jobs in my late teens and early 20's, I'm now 32, and even then, I new there was a better way. In 2003 I found it, and I'll never be looking back again.

To go full time was a lot of hard work and I often worked 16 hour days. However, I also get the opportunity to go to the beach, while everyone else is at work. It is hard work and all that hard work, has paid off.

      Thanks & Regards,

      Matt

I've been online for a few months now and the last full time IM months have been dramatic to say the least but the koolest part is I'm expanding and scaling things up at an accelerating rate ever since I went full time. Its awesome and I love it.

I've had some penniless days since I decided to go online full time but again I'll say its awesome and I love it

wish I could say i've been fulltime for 13 yrs like Brad has been but its a totally liberating feeling nonetheless.

Next month will be two years since I had a job. I didn't make the choice to go full time but I had been working towards it when I was fired (for the first time in my life). I thought about getting another job for about five minutes and then said why? I was already making a part time income and I knew I could push through and make it work.

in the sense they make the time to be full time Imer, (especaially if their kids are annoying)

I received my degree about 6 months ago, and since then I have been working full time in IM. I realized that either I could go work for "the man," or I could try to create a successful online business. I already had some success with affiliate marketing while in college, but once I was able to spend more time each and every day building my business then things took off!

I now do a lot of work with offline clients, helping them establish a web presence. Very profitable work if you know how to position yourself and close the sale.

I will say that I work one day a week at a local golf course giving lessons. However, I do not do it for the money, I have just played and taught golf my entire life and I really enjoy it!

I was thinking the other day, how my job was keeping me broke. At the end of each week, because I HATED what I was doing, I would cut loose on the weekends, usually spending stupidly and not having much of a care in the world. I was also earning an "hourly rate" which now that I think about it - YUCK! I often ask people nowadays out of interest, "whats your hourly rate here...?" to which they reply "$13 an hour..." AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHH!!!

As soon as I quit my job, I began LEARNING more and a LOT FASTER too! When I was stuck at my job, I was sitting at my desk while my brain turned to marshmallow.

I work part-time and shall probably continue to do so for the rest of my life, but not because I don't earn enough. I earn in both the worlds, and like both my things - IM and some of the other work that I do. I have a few more areas other than these 2 that I have given up on simply due to the lack of time, for example, I have given up working on Psychology after completing my MS in Counseling and Therapy. But I still work on scientific research and still hardcore into literature apart from my IM works.

My day job is decent in income, but if you look at the hourly rate, it's quite pathetic and it takes up a lot of my life.
I'm currently taking a break for a year from that, and now concentrating on IM at full steam. My plan is to be so successful that it more than replaces my income of my job, and instead of returning to the job, I can choose IM.

I haven't had a real job since 2007 when I quit to be a full time stay at home mome. I started freelance writing that year and started really concentrating on IM this year. I love the fact that I can make more money than I was at my full time job and stay at home with my little ones (even if they do drive me crazy almost every day).

My husband asked me the other day if I would ever get a job outside the home when the kids got older and I promptly said "No!" without any hesistation. When the kids get older that just means I have more time to work on IM and make more money rather than going back to making $14 an hour and having to put up with rude people who expect you to do their job for them.

Sorry to butt in on all of you full timers, but all of your input has me really excited. You know you see all these "I got rich overnight" stories on the net and I guess its possible and has happened more than a few times but I know its not the norm. Reading these replies gives me a realistic gauge of things. I find that more valuable than a bunch of hype.

I started gathering info and learning about IM in December 2009 and I am just now putting my first project together. I like what I do for a living but I'm pretty much maxed-out as to what I can make in my field which isn't bad money at all, butI work wierd hours and also pick up hours at another hospital when they're available. I also help my girlfriend with her kids alot. Thats why this first project is taking so long. I'm sure it'll get easier.

I'm ready for a change and a challenge and I'm certain that IM is what I'm looking for. The money will be great too. I want to move back to Florida pretty bad.

          Thanks again everyone!

Correct, it doesn't happen overnight. I spent two years building my business before leaving the world of J.O.B.S. If I were single I would have made the transition sooner, but being married with one kid still at home meant they had to be comfortable with it too.

This is awesome to read you guys, thanks.

Right now I'm a full time writer, but I'm having trouble keeping my head above the water since my husband lost his job.

Occasionally I wonder if I did the right thing leaving the "9-5" world and focusing on this, even though I love my new career. Right now I'm focusing on building a couple online businesses and new streams of income with a friend of mine, but I know it isn't going to be "easy."

So hearing success stories really helped to steel my resolve. I'm so ready to kick some (inject expletive here) and get some money rolling in so I don't have to worry anymore.

Yeah, this thread is inspiring. IM is fairly new to me (and kind of overwhelming), is it safe to say that the majority of you here are making most of your money as affiliates or by selling your own products?

I've been full time for the past 2 years now. Took me about a year of fumbling to get to this point. I dropped out of school to pursue my dreams in IM and succeeded.

I am NOT a full time SEO'er because of my obligations with school. However, I do intend to spend time on SEO in the future full time. Right now I am working on building an empire online so that when I do graduate from college I can spend time working on IM full time. I find I really enjoy Internet Marketing a lot; more so than the music business!

While getting backstage at a concert is cool; so is having a stable revenue stream that just continues to pay. Besides the music business is dying. I've found myself more attached to having multiple streams of online income versus dealing with different high maintenance characters as an intern in the Music industry. Here I can be my own boss, set my own hours and earn as much as I need/want (sorta on the want part)

I started IM out in 2007 but only been serious on it this year.

I would still keep my full time job as I love what I do but some side income would be very nice indeed.

I am in this full time I've been my own boss most of my life, can't work for someone else...

I think you have to have certain type of personality to work for yourself - not everyone can do this. Most people need 'security' and someone to tell them what to do , also they need to be surrounded by other people during the day. And of course working in the office can be fun, but only if your office is like this one...

        Hi DA,

        Impressed by the video, amazing.

I agree that security is what most people are after rather than freedom. It's not easy to go after the latter regardless of security. But the irony is those who have achieved massive financial freedom are those who are most secure.

I have been working on this Internet Marketing for close to a year and i have made a little bit of income. I really want to make this work. I am trying to stick to one method and see where that takes me. I am on unemployment right now but it won't last forever. Hopefully i can bring in some real money before it runs out.

Proudly NOT full time I tried it about 2 years ago and went insane after about 2 months - I guess I'm just the kind of person who needs the structure and framework of a job to help me finish what I need to get done in my off hours. For anyone who's dreaming about full time IM, realize that it has its own challenges - how are you going to combat the loneliness of working at home, by yourself? Are you disciplined enough to force yourself to work when there's an all-day Golden Girls marathon on? I, for the record, am not...

Granted, it probably doesn't hurt that my day job is doing marketing/HR for a company that makes chocolate and other candies...

I work a full-time job and do internet marketing along the side

Been in the IM game for 3 years now. Although marketing online gives me tremendous results. I still choose to work because I love my job so much (it's sales and marketing related)

So I guess my passion for marketing extends to all areas in my life It's been a very rewarding journey. I don't think I'll ever stop!

I've been full-time for a few years now. Although I do have Offline Clients, that's more like a job than traditional Internet Marketing. But what I'm doing for them is the same thing I do for my own sites, and ultimately I own the company (with a couple of partners), so I consider myself full time in IM!

    I'll be honest.
I was full time and thought the good life would last forever.
Then came failure and the money just did not keep coming.
I am now in rebuild mode and only part time. Thankfully I am still
self employed with offline audio production projects.
Everything in online marketing keeps changing and sometimes

Nothing is more rewarding than empowering yourself to reach your own goals on your own terms each and every single day. I have been full time for about 4 years now and I never regret the move I made. I have honestly never been happier. Every day is a challenge, but so is working for someone else. I never reached my full potential in internet marketing until I began doing it full time. There's just something about the pressure to survive that brings out something inside you that you might have never known you had.

I was teaching a High School Automotive Technology course until January 2009 when the school system did away with the program and I decided that I would never work for anyone else again. I am climbing a steep learning curve to become a successful IMer and having a great time with it. I have spent a lot of money but I really expect to make it back quickly.

I've been full-time online for over a year now. An unexpected promotion in my offline career kept me there longer than I really cared to stay, or needed to for that matter. The long-term benefits of extending my offline career outweighed the short-term benefits of going full-time online sooner than I chose to.

I spent five years tweaking my exit strategy from my offline job, and it worked out quite marvelously. Careful planning and timing are everything.

I think the whole point is to work LESS each week and not become a full timer. outsource most of your work so you can focus on how to grow your business rather than focusing on submitting articles, writing articles, building backlinks, building websites and so on.

I thought the whole point of internet marketing was to enjoy your free time and not have to worry about money?

I am one of those full time Internet Marketer myself that's why after couple of years spending 20 hours a week infront of my PC and earning much revenue, that was also the time wherein I planned to start outsourcing some of my business needs and it definitely helped me leverage more than I did it alone. So far, I have 3 staff in place doing all admin, customer support, programming, web development, SEO and graphic designing while I focus on interviewing, contacting affiliates and planning more projects ahead.
