Hey guys,

I just had the thought, I wonder how many warriors are full time with IM. Meaning no job, just IM for all your financial needs.

It'd be interesting to see. Inspirational for new people as well.

I've been full time for about 2 years.

Andrew

  • I'm fortunate that at this point in time I have the choice of whether or not I want a job, part-time or full-time. Periodically I do take part-time or full-time positions (usually contract work) out of interest.
  • I quit my job back in early 07. Ive been full time since then. Last month was my best month yet, and Im hoping to triple that within the next 3 months.

Since becoming involved in IM, Ive become addicted to sitting in cafes all day.

    • Hah, that's great! Would like to sit in cafes too all day

    • Awesome! Remember asking the barista in a cafe I used to go to about this dude who seemed to always be there. He was always driving different, very expensive cars each day. Expensive looking suits etc. Barista said he was in property development - very rich. Said now he likes having coffees in cafes!
  • Still working part time, hope to g full time in the next 6 months and perhaps start outsourcing most part of my job.
  • I am full time have been for 13 years

  • I've been full-time since June '09, when I left my hell of a job and never looked back. (Except to sue them. But that's another story.)

I'm also doing full-time school September-April. Juggling the two is, needless to say, interesting at times. :p

    • Tell me about it! I go to school full time as well and I sit down to do homework and find myself here most of the time! Very challenging to do both but great job!

  • Figured out in 2005 that being your own boss is the way to go, plus was sick of making all the money for the company and not for myself. Learned everything I could and still continue to. So from end of 2005 on been living my dream full time.

    • I'm currently part time but I'm finishing my last year of university so I hope to go full time by the summer and avoid the rat race
  • Part time at the moment, but heavily tending to be full-time! I'm closer every day.. My plan is in one month or two from now, to quit my day job
  • I never had a day job. I'm working online since 2005. So far so good
  • I'm currently part-time. That will change, though, once I get some s**t done that needs to be taken care of.

My day job's fine for now... I work at an electronics store and get quite a few discounts, which I plan to take full advantage of before I leave Once that's done, though... *grins*
  • Have been full time since getting my degree.

I dont know why, but this past few months, I just wake up too eager to work with my IM campaigns. So, I went ahead and decided not to work in any hospital.

    • I've been full time since 2003.

I was studying law at the time and I remember my lecturer saying "you can live a good life working as a lawyer, however, if you want to be rich, you should go into business."

That statement, and reading the Robert Kyosaki books, were instrumental in me changing my life to what it is today.

I worked a lot of jobs in my late teens and early 20's, I'm now 32, and even then, I new there was a better way. In 2003 I found it, and I'll never be looking back again.

To go full time was a lot of hard work and I often worked 16 hour days. However, I also get the opportunity to go to the beach, while everyone else is at work. It is hard work and all that hard work, has paid off.

      Thanks & Regards,

      Matt
  • I went full time working from home in early 2008, but didn't make a full time income from internet marketing alone until a couple of months ago. That actually took me seven years, as I made my first few dollars online in 2003....
  • I have been self-employed for 13 years, not all in IM, but self-employed nevertheless....

be careful though - if it gets too big, it can also tie you down like a "job."

    Although, I'll never go back!

    • I'm a part time Internet Marketer, a part time Author, a part time Investor, and a full time stay at home dad .

I left the corporate world when I was 32 and never looked back.

  • I've been online for a few months now and the last full time IM months have been dramatic to say the least but the koolest part is I'm expanding and scaling things up at an accelerating rate ever since I went full time. Its awesome and I love it.

I've had some penniless days since I decided to go online full time but again I'll say its awesome and I love it

wish I could say i've been fulltime for 13 yrs like Brad has been but its a totally liberating feeling nonetheless.
  • Right now I am, though i do have some fun side jobs to get me out of the house

    • Next month will be two years since I had a job. I didn't make the choice to go full time but I had been working towards it when I was fired (for the first time in my life). I thought about getting another job for about five minutes and then said why? I was already making a part time income and I knew I could push through and make it work.

a drop out, cool. When you receive your $10,000 check, you can go and show it in your Past uni lecturure/principles face, telling him you made the best decision ever, to drop out
  • Is 3k a month considered full time?

I ask this because I am a high school student (soon a college freshman ) and I don't really know what you adults would consider a full time income.

    I don't have a job though
  • I received my degree about 6 months ago, and since then I have been working full time in IM. I realized that either I could go work for "the man," or I could try to create a successful online business. I already had some success with affiliate marketing while in college, but once I was able to spend more time each and every day building my business then things took off!

I now do a lot of work with offline clients, helping them establish a web presence. Very profitable work if you know how to position yourself and close the sale.

I will say that I work one day a week at a local golf course giving lessons. However, I do not do it for the money, I have just played and taught golf my entire life and I really enjoy it!
  • I was thinking the other day, how my job was keeping me broke. At the end of each week, because I HATED what I was doing, I would cut loose on the weekends, usually spending stupidly and not having much of a care in the world. I was also earning an "hourly rate" which now that I think about it - YUCK! I often ask people nowadays out of interest, "whats your hourly rate here...?" to which they reply "$13 an hour..." AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHH!!!

As soon as I quit my job, I began LEARNING more and a LOT FASTER too! When I was stuck at my job, I was sitting at my desk while my brain turned to marshmallow.

Being financially independant is the best feeling in the world!

Your JOB may be the very reason you have no money!

    • I work part-time and shall probably continue to do so for the rest of my life, but not because I don't earn enough. I earn in both the worlds, and like both my things - IM and some of the other work that I do. I have a few more areas other than these 2 that I have given up on simply due to the lack of time, for example, I have given up working on Psychology after completing my MS in Counseling and Therapy. But I still work on scientific research and still hardcore into literature apart from my IM works.

      Am I not lucky?
  • My day job is decent in income, but if you look at the hourly rate, it's quite pathetic and it takes up a lot of my life.
I'm currently taking a break for a year from that, and now concentrating on IM at full steam. My plan is to be so successful that it more than replaces my income of my job, and instead of returning to the job, I can choose IM.
  • I'm full time
  • I am full time but not though choice I enjoyed my job (most days) but they ceased trading I do miss it

    • In keeping with the way the OP was worded, I've been full-time since 1999. I prefer to call it being semi-retired though.

Most of my income is from IM, but like Ron, I'm also a published book author and receive those royalty checks every six months.

    • This is awesome to read you guys, thanks.

Right now I'm a full time writer, but I'm having trouble keeping my head above the water since my husband lost his job.

Occasionally I wonder if I did the right thing leaving the "9-5" world and focusing on this, even though I love my new career. Right now I'm focusing on building a couple online businesses and new streams of income with a friend of mine, but I know it isn't going to be "easy."

So hearing success stories really helped to steel my resolve. I'm so ready to kick some (inject expletive here) and get some money rolling in so I don't have to worry anymore.

  • I've been full time for the past 2 years now. Took me about a year of fumbling to get to this point. I dropped out of school to pursue my dreams in IM and succeeded.
  • I am NOT a full time SEO'er because of my obligations with school. However, I do intend to spend time on SEO in the future full time. Right now I am working on building an empire online so that when I do graduate from college I can spend time working on IM full time. I find I really enjoy Internet Marketing a lot; more so than the music business!

While getting backstage at a concert is cool; so is having a stable revenue stream that just continues to pay. Besides the music business is dying. I've found myself more attached to having multiple streams of online income versus dealing with different high maintenance characters as an intern in the Music industry. Here I can be my own boss, set my own hours and earn as much as I need/want (sorta on the want part)
  • I started IM out in 2007 but only been serious on it this year.

I would still keep my full time job as I love what I do but some side income would be very nice indeed.

    • I am in this full time I've been my own boss most of my life, can't work for someone else...

I think you have to have certain type of personality to work for yourself - not everyone can do this. Most people need 'security' and someone to tell them what to do , also they need to be surrounded by other people during the day. And of course working in the office can be fun, but only if your office is like this one... YouTube - My Cubicle video remix

  • I'm not a full time IMer 'cause I got schools 'n stuff.

But I'm dropping an year to concentrate on my IM business (and expand it offline, too) along with a couple partners. Should be interesting.
  • I have been working on this Internet Marketing for close to a year and i have made a little bit of income. I really want to make this work. I am trying to stick to one method and see where that takes me. I am on unemployment right now but it won't last forever. Hopefully i can bring in some real money before it runs out.
  • I'm part time, really couldn't see myself doing IM full time - it would drive me crazy! I feel there is also too much financial insecurity sometimes in IM
  • Proudly NOT full time I tried it about 2 years ago and went insane after about 2 months - I guess I'm just the kind of person who needs the structure and framework of a job to help me finish what I need to get done in my off hours. For anyone who's dreaming about full time IM, realize that it has its own challenges - how are you going to combat the loneliness of working at home, by yourself? Are you disciplined enough to force yourself to work when there's an all-day Golden Girls marathon on? I, for the record, am not...

Granted, it probably doesn't hurt that my day job is doing marketing/HR for a company that makes chocolate and other candies...

  • I work a full-time job and do internet marketing along the side

Been in the IM game for 3 years now. Although marketing online gives me tremendous results. I still choose to work because I love my job so much (it's sales and marketing related)

So I guess my passion for marketing extends to all areas in my life It's been a very rewarding journey. I don't think I'll ever stop!
  • I work on my IM projects 3-4 hours per day. I don't have any other job. Now what am I? Full timer? Not literally!

    • I've been full-time for a few years now. Although I do have Offline Clients, that's more like a job than traditional Internet Marketing. But what I'm doing for them is the same thing I do for my own sites, and ultimately I own the company (with a couple of partners), so I consider myself full time in IM!
  • If I cut my hours on the computer in half, I'd be working full-time. This "job" is just so addictive.
  • I'll be honest.
I was full time and thought the good life would last forever.
Then came failure and the money just did not keep coming.
I am now in rebuild mode and only part time. Thankfully I am still
self employed with offline audio production projects.
Everything in online marketing keeps changing and sometimes
ruins my plans. I once thought I knew it all, I do not.
  • Nothing is more rewarding than empowering yourself to reach your own goals on your own terms each and every single day. I have been full time for about 4 years now and I never regret the move I made. I have honestly never been happier. Every day is a challenge, but so is working for someone else. I never reached my full potential in internet marketing until I began doing it full time. There's just something about the pressure to survive that brings out something inside you that you might have never known you had.
  • I'm just doing Internet Marketing trying to add to my retirement income. Can't say that I've been very successful as yet, but I'm working hard.

  • I've been very happily full time for a little over 6 years now and I'm never going back. This is just too much fun
  • I was teaching a High School Automotive Technology course until January 2009 when the school system did away with the program and I decided that I would never work for anyone else again. I am climbing a steep learning curve to become a successful IMer and having a great time with it. I have spent a lot of money but I really expect to make it back quickly.
  • I've been full-time online for over a year now. An unexpected promotion in my offline career kept me there longer than I really cared to stay, or needed to for that matter. The long-term benefits of extending my offline career outweighed the short-term benefits of going full-time online sooner than I chose to.

I spent five years tweaking my exit strategy from my offline job, and it worked out quite marvelously. Careful planning and timing are everything.

  • Yup I guess I'm in that category! I have been in IM full-time for about 2-3 years now! I love the freedom and working for myself.

I don't think I could ever work for anyone else again!

  • I think the whole point is to work LESS each week and not become a full timer. outsource most of your work so you can focus on how to grow your business rather than focusing on submitting articles, writing articles, building backlinks, building websites and so on.

I thought the whole point of internet marketing was to enjoy your free time and not have to worry about money?
  • I have been full time without J.o.b since October 29, 2008, but have been making a full time living longer than that.

  • I am one of those full time Internet Marketer myself that's why after couple of years spending 20 hours a week infront of my PC and earning much revenue, that was also the time wherein I planned to start outsourcing some of my business needs and it definitely helped me leverage more than I did it alone. So far, I have 3 staff in place doing all admin, customer support, programming, web development, SEO and graphic designing while I focus on interviewing, contacting affiliates and planning more projects ahead.
  • I've been full time since the very first day I started in IM. I have no idea how, but I made 4 figures on my first month (I still remember the exact figure: $3080)
  • I'm a full timer too..
