Hello guys (& gals)!

I'm addice (my nice is a direct translation from my Chinese name), currently living in one of the best Asian countries (guess where you can find Merlion!)

I'm considered a newbie here, starting out my blog talking about finance. (check out my signature below.) Anyway, I still do not have a product to sell yet... thus I'm still looking around.

Anyway, just a question, how long did you guys take to bring in income from your website (from affiliate, or selling your own products)? Just curious to know.

Sorry if my English is bad! :p

  • Depends on whether the site is already indexed or not. If you have built enough sites though you obviously end up with a success story like a sale on day two. But if you are new to this I would offer that it will take you a month.
  • From a fellow noob, welcome!
  • Hi Addice,

Welcome to Wf and you will find a lot of helpful info here. And the best thing is for you to put it into action.

Now it all depends with you the person and how much work you are willing to put in.
  • According to my experience, it will probably take more than a month to bring traffic to your blog/website...

    Thanks,
    James

    • I agree, a month is a bit ambitious. Not impossible of course if you know what you are doing, but I am assuming that you don't have a great deal of experience. But look, don't focus on sales too much just yet (even though I know it is exactly what you would like to do) focus on building your blog up and especially your content. People will start visiting your site soon enough if you give them enough reason to do so. Keyword rich content that is relevant, fresh and interesting will go a long way to get you that 1st sale sooner rather than later.

  • Use jetsubmitter.com

you WILL get into google top pages in a few days.

unless you're going for a very competitive keyword or niche.
if you've done your " long tail keyword " homework, and
chosen a product or niche that is not too competitive,
then you will do great with jetsubmitter in less then a couple of days.

feel free to contact me if you need more help getting started making
money online. I've got a few other google and cash making tips for you. ; )

    cheers

    • Welcome to the forum. There are many tips here that you can learn yourself.
  • My advice would be to start buildin a list as soon as possible. I was told this over and over in the begining and didn't take the advice.

    Good luck
  • I couldn't agree more with Anthony in building a list. I just checked out your site. It looks busy and sometimes keeping it simple is the key.

when you create a website, you need to ask yourself what do you want the readers to do - what is the call to action?

name capture or click to an affiliate product for more information?
Develop your sales funnel or marketing sequence.

Either way, try to create a list so you can always send an email to redirect them back to a specific blog post.

    Good luck

    • Hi Addice,

Welcome to WF and one of the best Internet Marketing forums out there.
When I was new like you years ago I was in and out of this forum because there is just too much to learn. You will soon find just how good information people are willing to share with you.
  • Another key component to making money is making sure that you have done your homework in 2 areas:
    1. Selecting the right keywords to get qualified traffic that is ready to buy what you have to offer.
    2. Selecting the right vendor(s) offering a product with a good track record of converting traffic into sales.

Otherwise you can spend a lot of time and money driving traffic to your site and not make any money at all...

Also, try to have multiple streams of income set-up such as affiliate offers, AdSense, CPA offers, etc. Test to see what is converting and adjust/change your offers over time.

Last piece of advice: Don't just create one site and wait. Build one, get some traffic to it, and then create another and another. Some times we may think that we have found a "need" to be fulfilled and later find out that people in that market are not ready to buy.

  • First if you have to ask a question, you have to give a short or one liner description in the title of any thread, you create

By your title it seems you are introducing yourself, but eventually you also ask a question. So most of the times you will get a reply of welcome to the forum and nice to see you here. This actually we can do it in general chat

  • the best advice i can give you is, you can only learn from your mistakes, so don't be afraid to make them! it only means your climbing higher on that learning curve..!

  • It depends on how much time you wiling to invest, about making your blog successful you need to write articles and submit it to article directories and commenting on other blogs will be good start.
    Also consider following methods:

Forum posting, Bookmarking, RSS submission, Posting videos, Press release,
Directory submission, Social network, Free traffic system, Paid links. I know it's a lot of work but if you want success its nothing just keep at it! Good luck and wish you all the best!
