Help! I have a virus that I can't get rid of!

I am hoping someone can help me. I have some kind of virus that is sending out spam emails to everyone on my email list and the emails are coming from my email address!

The past few days I have tried installing McAfee and it detects no virus. So I uninstalled that and installed AVG and it detected no virus. I have also tried Crap Cleaner and Malwarebytes.

Any Suggestions??????

Thanks,

Elizabeth

That could mean that you don't have a virus but someone actually got your password for the service you use (like aweber, get response).

Just change your password and if the problem persists then you should reinstall the OS on your computer and format everything on your HD.

Use a start up boot-disk virus scan for suborn viruses. Best to create it on a non-infected computer.

Have you tried spy-bot? Also you might want to go into your email directory and add a non-existent email address as the first contact. If it is an email spam program, that should stop the rest of the list from going out. cheers

It is my Yahoo email account that this is happening to. I have a Gmail account and have no problems with that.

I have tried Spybot as well.

I will try changing the password.

As someone said above go try hijackthis.com
However don't do anything if you don't know about it as it can give false alerts. There are sites out there with helpful experts who will walk you through what to do and help you with it. I forgot which forum it was but highjackthis gives you a list of official forum. It might be worth a try.

    Try maybe hijackthis.com
I also use eset for a protection and find it very good, it's light and doesn't slow your pc down but gives excellent protection at the same time.
    Good luck

I have Norton, and they are using a new heuristic scanning method, that has removed a few Trojan horses off my computer that I have never even heard of. Norton also gets rid of many viruses in a controlled environment within your computer, by running the executable in a secure place within Norton.
