Why is my website only getting 3 clicks a day?

I have a niche site on the first page of Google and i am getting very few visitors. This keyword phrase i am ranked for gets 33,100 searches a month and that is exact. Broad gets over 40,000 searches. I am in position number 8 on the first page. I know i am not going to get 40,000 clicks on my site but i would think i would get more than a few a day. Any ideas anyone?

I hope i am not being ignorant as i have not been doing this for a long time.

You figure at the number 8 position plus the adwords bidders as well, you may only stand to get clicked a few times per day. You might try doing an adwords bid for a day and just see what that traffic gives you for comparison.

I also have a niche website, and also gets a very good search result when you look for it, but I have ended up creating other websites with a broader range of ideas, because nobody was searching for my website.

I never got any sign ups either, even though I designed the site up to be beautiful. It made me sad, but I just created another website to cheer me up. The niche sites are hard to get going, and to hit success is lucky, considering sites like twitter, and a few others I can't think of right now...

If you believe your site can hit it big, never give up! I never did with my other websites, because even if they are not doing well, it just takes someone to think that your site is worth going to, and using, no matter how narrow the niche it is.

Are you absolutely sure that you are ranked on the first page?

If you are logged into any Google accounts at the time, they will push your site towards the top of the search results because they believe it is something you are interested in.

You very well could be on page 10 and not know it.

    Well the f#$kd up thing about that is this;
USUALLY the first 3 Search result of the SERP
get 75% of the traffic from 1 Keyword...

...And if any of theose 3 is more than enough
of a good answer that people don't have to
look too far to get a Good answer to their
Problem... Chances are, they won't even
    look elsewhere...

Think about it; when you do look up a
term (not as an Internet Marketer) but as a
regulr Joe, don't you stop looking after
    you've found your answer?

That's the only logical Explanation I have
for you, but as far as only getting 3 hits?!?!?

Did you let a month go by? Let it simmer
a little before you decide to stop optimizing
for that particular Keyword; because 30,000+
searches a month is a pretty solid number!

Let me know how everything goes after month
    of ranking THAT HIGH...

    Good Luck bro, Later

Also I thought of something else...

I'm not trying to insult you or anything
with this next question, but it used to
happen to me a lot when i first started...

Are you looking at the amount of pages
found on the Search Engine Results Page?,
Or did you actually look up the Keyword

In Your Google Keyword Research Tool?
    to get that "33,000" number?

    Thanks man.

Good job on getting first page in the SERPS but if your title sucks, you aren't going to get very many clicks. Remember you're competing with all the other SERPS and the AdWords advertisers. You need to work on increasing your CTR by changing the title and description. Good luck.

Put your keywords into Google Insights

    Google Insights for Search

Maybe your keywords only get big hits during certain times of the year and right now is not one of them.

An example would be Christmas Trees. Only gets searched around December but the monthly searches are the averages for the year.

Congrats on getting to page one. Now you just need to optimise the ranked page for that keyword. Make sure the description is compelling as that will encourage people to click. Tweak the copy if you need to for the keyword. And then start building backlinks to the page. If you have Market Samurai you can spy on your competitors and see how many backlinks they have so you can try and beat them.

Show Google your page is more relevant and more popular and the page will start to rise.

Its might be becoz the visitors might have been getting better responsive or satisfactory results on the top 3 or 4 results...well it depends on the niche & the keyword, if its some kind of product specific then visitors always choose the initial one......although it still depends....analyze the visitors psychology of your market & keyword........you will get the answer....

mmm, what is the title of the website?
Maybe the title is boring, because I have a website in 8th, but I get decent traffic. I would recommend you to choose an attractive title.

If you can't change the title you may need to change the words under it do something to make it stand out remember your competing against 9 other organic results plus all the ad word ads.

8 is not the best position but you should be getting more than 3 clicks per day can you get higher what's above you if it's not all established authority sites I would try to move up

Thanks for all your advice also another thing is the 33,000 searches is global and when i look under local search it doesn't show any searches or it Not enough data. What is the difference? Does the local search matter?

8th position is not good enough. Do some
ground work about your website to rank on
the first 3 positions and you will see your
      visitors hit the roof.

      This is my advice:

Type in your keyword and see the URLs in the
first 3 positions. Take their URLs to Google
Keyword Tool to investigate more keywords.

Read their pages for which they are ranked for
and emulate what they are doing right. Secondly,
look at their websites' source code and critique
their on-page optimization strategies. Do what they
do and do what they have not done to better your
      ranking.

Is that all? No! Lots of work but the pay
off will certainly not be 3 visitors per day.

You need off-page optimization. You have to read
on these if you are not familiar with SEO stuff.

Write unique content and upload. It is not enough
to have visitors come to your website. They have
to CONVERT to have any meaning to your efforts.

For local and global searches, your website popularity
importance and relevance determines how you are
      positioned.

For a start, the number one secret to take up
first position in search engines is to register exact
"search term" as a domain name. Sooner than later
you will snap up the first place, holding all other
      factors constant

Google does not look the same all over, as the results are from different data centers.

Google also do their best to customize the search result based on your search history. I am pretty sure they can do this wether you are logged in or not.

My point is that you might not rank in position 8 all around the world. Still good work!
