Best Article Directory

What are the best article databases to use for article marketing? Im sure that this questions been asked before but I just cant find it. Im using ezinearticles, buzzle, and and goarticles right now. What works best for you and how many sites should I be posting to in order to optimize my traffic?:confused:

    EzineArticles is head-and-shoulders above the rest.
    Goarticles is good.
    ArticleDashboard is also very good.

    Post your articles to your sites and blogs first. then to the directories and other blogs.

      Will you be penalized for duplicate content if you post an article to EzineArticles.com that is already posted to your website/blog? Do you recommend changing your articles up before posting them to article directories, and if so, how much change is enough?

        Duplicate content refers to what is on your own site. Google does not appear to penalize the same content appearing on different properties. For example, I can find many iterations of the same article I've written in the Google SERPs when I do a search. Sometimes they are listed one right after the other in the rankings. I'm not sure what Google will do if you post the same article on your own site multiple times, for whatever reason, but that's where this notion of a penalty for duplication has arisen.

      I would agree that EzineArticles and Go Articles Are higher up on the list.

      Having the "RSS" on your "Expert Author" page with
      EzineArticles alone gives the whole world access to your articles.
      Millions of web masters use this feature on their web sites and blogs because it helps to rank them as somewhat of an expert on whatever niche they are feeding from, and the search engine spiders like them also.
      The article marketer can really get the word out with this tool...
      ...That is, if that person is good enough for others to want to link to their feed.

    I think more important than the number of submission sites you use is how you optimize each article. You first want to build a good keyword list, using wordtracker or the Google Adwords Tool. Build each article around keywords people actually search for and you'll be much better off in the long run. The quick payoff is the immediate traffic from the article directories, but it will pale in comparison to the traffic you might see from a few good Google rankings for those articles.

    Others will mention different ones, but the best for search engine ranking, in my experience, have been EzineArticles (everyone will probably agree on this one), and SearchWarp. Buzzle is good too. I've not seen a lot of SE ranking success from GoArticles, but I have seen some of the articles I've only submitted there get picked up a lot by others. That's good for backlinks, although you should be prepared for some to remove your link when they post your article. You can try going after them, but I think it's largely a waste. Spend more time writing and let the few bad apples be what they are.

    Whenever the subject of article directories come up I noticed that very little attention is ever given to CaliforniaChronicle.com which is a site that last time I checked was owned by Google.

    Additionally, Google favors this site as much as EzineArticles and GoArticles because they own it. Once your article is published there it will then be published to their other sister sites -- newspaper sites which I believe number 12. It is one of my favorite article directories because you can post affiliate links on this site as well.

    Within days of your article being published you will see it show up on Google and and within weeks you will see that you have links on their other 12 online newspaper sites as well.
