If I am have an ebook to sell, but am a newbie at writing sales letters and squeeze pages, would the John Carlton SWS course make a huge difference for someone like myself whose product is not taking off? Also, I am a doctor and am busy with my practice so I only have about 5 hours a week to put into this The other 5 hours goes into maintaining my blog). I can't decide if I should put my money towards something like this or invest the $2000 in paid advertising to drive traffic to my site or hire a 1:1 coach? Also, how would I find the best teacher for this course? Thanks in advance for your input.

I'm with Ruch1v. If you don't have traffic yet... I'd worry more about that. But before you consider John's Simple Writing System I'd take John up on his free 7 lesson copyrighting course.

Other then that... if you really need a free or low cost education... I have kept all the emails my mentors have sent me and added them to my swipe file. Now I never copy and past their words. People know it you are speaking in your "voice" or not... and there are copyright issues too.

But I'd say take John free course and then go and look at the emails your mentors send you and look for examples of techniques John teaches and study that. Probably the best free copyrighting education you could ever ask for.

Try to look beyond the words for the underlying emotional tones and for the story structure.

John Carlton is one of the world's best copywriters. Copywriting deals with conversions once someone is to your site. It is one component of a successful campaign. But there is so much to making a successful campaign.

Do you worry about blood pressure or oxygen saturation levels? Answer is BOTH. Same here.

If you are new, perhaps you should get a more general course geared toward newbies. Carlton would be for someone with a little experience.

If you are self publishing, I personally like Marlin Sanders, but others may disagree. Sanders has some material on successful self publishing and it is a complete course on how to write and market it.

This board has many qualified instructors as well. I'd recommend joining the War Room. Best investment.

Best wishes on a successful campaign, Doctor.

    Hi there,

I'm a tutor for John in the Simple
    Writing System.

What the system teaches you is
    the power of persuasion.

So yes, it will almost definitely help
    you increase your conversions... but
    learning effective persuasion goes a
    lot further than that.

In fact, it's just about the most powerful
skill any biz owner can have.

With that course, every part of your
business can flourish. More sales, more
    subscribers, more JV partners, more
    profit.

And all because you'll be able to write
    more persuasive communications. Even
your blog posts will attract and keep
    more readers.

    There's a reason why people who've
mastered this stuff get paid insane
amounts of money, and it's because of
the dramatic difference they can make
    to just about any business.

    Hope that helps
