Newbie question - Aff sales vs WSO vs JV for new product?

I'll be the first to admit I absolutely suck at marketing, hence this post, a question to the more seasoned marketers/product launch guru's out there.

My last product did well in that I made a fair bit of cash from it, but it never made a splash initially, with hundreds of orders at launch because my marketing was terrible. Sales have trickled in regularly, though, mostly from search engine traffic and referrals.

I'm in a bit of a quandary at the moment in that I've created a new software product, and I'd like to effectively get it out there more initially (remember, my marketing skills are that of a programmer).

My thoughts have been that I can approach the initial launch three ways, each of which I can achieve technically fairly easily.

  1. There's an affiliate system ready to go. All it needs is affiliates to promote it.
  2. The software could appeal to a large segment of online newbies, so I could offer it as a WSO.
  3. Once again, the software lends itself to someone creating an info product in the niche, so I could maybe look for a JV partner with a list. (My list is for a totally different market, so using it would probably not get too many sales, sadly)
My question is which avenue would you recommend to maximise sales in the short term (I believe the residual sales will still come in via the same sources the first product did).

Your thoughts/suggestions for a newbie?

Thanks,

Will.

    The answer is YES.

Offer it as a WSO to build up a resume of product referrals and marketers who know about your product.

Offer the program to be sold by people who purchase the WSO to their lists through your affiliate program, which technically constitutes a JV deal, also.

Look through the Warrior Forum to choose people you want to partner with, and find other top marketers you believe would be good to partner with on a JV deal and let them offer it to their lists. (You may want to make them a more lucrative cut of the profits than a general affiliate.) If your product offers good value to their lists, they may jump on it.

Your only real trick is choosing the cycle of these product offerings. Do you hit up the large JV partners first, and give them a 1 week head start of your WSO/Affiliate Launch, or do you let them come in at the same time or just after the WSO.

So as I said....The answer is YES.

Thank you for the insights. I guess all options are possible, but as you say, timing of each method is key. Perhaps the WSO, to get it out there...
