Is it difficult to make money through Amazon?

Hello fellow warriors,

Do you have any experience on making money through amazon? I just applied my affiliate account from amazon, but read someone said its cookie only has 24 hours. So I think it must be VERY difficult to make money through amazon. How do you guys think about this question?

Much thanks!

The cookie used to be much longer before, but yeah, now its down to 24 like you said! You just have to make sure you are sending traffic through various keywords, and not rely on one or a few! This should make traffic more consistent, and you will have a higher chance of gaining some commissions!

But i do not think it makes it impossible!

Amazon is actually easier than Clickbank and other digital products because people trust them and are used to buying from them.

I thought the Amazon cookie only lasts till the browser session ends? It's a lot less now, but I know some people who didn't notice that much of a difference in commissions.

There are a couple of people who are making a nice living solely from Amazon. This person is one of them: Niche Market Control Panel

I'm currently going through Steven Resell's Super Simple Blogging as well: Make Money Blogging! | supersimpleblogging.com

He uses mainly Amazon, Adsense and eBay with some clickbank on the side for his microniches. None of these links are affiliate links btw.

It all depends on the products really and the traffic your blog/site receives. For one of my shoe sites Amazon has proved to be huge, but for another site it wasn't.

      Great!

I have some questions to ask you though.

Do you use any software to build your niche sites? Do you just do SEO and tried to rank high in SERPs so as to get organic traffic? Or do you have any other traffic sources? Do you build review type site or other type site?

      Thanks for your input.

Ok this is exactly what i do.
        1. Keyword research for domain name
        2. keyword research for Amazon products at least 1,000 searches a month
3.find a keyword phrase that is 3 to 5 words for domain
        4. search volume of 500 or more for domain
        5. competition of 100,000 or less in quotes for domain name
6.pay per click amount of .50 cent or more
        7. i build Amazon review sites with wordpress
        8. it is better to custom build your site and do everything manually it looks so much better that way.
        9. I bought Profit Zon from Daniel Brock and it teaches you step by step how to make money with Amazon.
I only had one visitor and they bought like 6 items and the funny thing is i didn't sell any of the stuff they bought. I had a 500% click through rate. Oh and i just use free traffic and try to get ranked in Google.

        Good luck and start building.

I just want to add to this:

When promoting amazon products, you are going to want to promote products that have a decent dollar value. You should go with a product that is worth around the $100 range, give or take a few.

          Why?

Simple, it will potentially require less work to make the same amount of money from a lesser priced product.

For example, if you promoted a product that was worth $25, you would make minimum of $1 from that product. While you will make $4 from a $100 product. (minimum means based on the 4% starting commission)

This means if you make 1 sale a day on the $100 product, you could potentially make $120 for that site, while the $25 product you would only make $30. You would make more, because you only need to sell 7 things to boost your commission to the next level.

Could the $25 product maybe surpass the $100 in terms of commission earned. Maybe, it just requires more traffic to your site, and you need to sell at least 4 times as much to make the same amount.

One pretty cool thing about amazon, is that if they don't buy what you were offering, but buy something else instead, you still make money from it.

Anyways, my point is, yes, you can definitely make some good money with Amazon, as long as you have the right product that people want or need to buy.

          Hope this helps.

I don't think its impossible to make money through Amazon but you just gotta do it right.

Blogs do well for Amazon products generally but it depends on the design of the blog and the content. A specialist niche store would do nicely too. At least, that's what people tell me.

I have yet to try Amazon selling yet but I might give it a shot too...

We make a pretty good income from Amazon. It is definitely doable. The key is to write good reviews and to choose the right products.

Hi, You can really get good money from amazon if you have set up everything carefully, here are my simple suggestions when get affiliated with amazon:

    1) Compile a list of affiliate products in each niche that are of interest to you.
    2) Remember to select ones that many people buy from. Don't get a niche no one spends money in.Remember: No demand = no money so don't make that mistake.
    3) Make your website and generate good traffic to it - Give it s good sales page that will be easy to read and easy to navigate when the customer is ready to make a purchase.

It depends on the products but Amazon has a wide range of products to offer and not limited to books or dvds. It'll be even better if you have several websites that you can take advantage of the products they offer.
