Well anything is possible Desmond but why make it harder for yourself?

A JV/Affiliate is doing your marketing for you. You have created the materials that allow them to do that and they will make sales for you. There is no further effort on your part really and so you pay them a commission. An army of these means you do not have to work so hard.

Would you rather have income from products theyhave sold for you or whatever you can sell on your own?

As for getting traffic to your site there are many ways. Here is one 9 step approach:
    STEP ONE: Write an article
    STEP TWO: Submit your article
STEP THREE: Rework your article into a press release and then submit
STEP FOUR: Rework your article into a video
    STEP FIVE: Submit your video
STEP SIX: Turn your audio into a Podcast
STEP SEVEN: Create a blog entry
STEP EIGHT: Create a Squidoo Lens
STEP NINE: Bookmark your video links

    Regards

    By all means, YES.

I think it's better for everyone if you're selling a good volume of your product(s) before you ever consider taking on JV partners.

Lots of people have made fortunes selling information products with no JV partners whatsoever.

Well that's the million-dollar question in Internet Marketing, isn't it?

    There are so many ways:

    Pay per click advertising
    Pay per view (contextual) advertising
    Banner advertising
    Nano-blogging
    Video submissions
    SEO and Social media marketing
    Publicity campaigns
    Advertising on eBay and Amazon
    Trade Shows
    Direct Mail
    Magazine Advertising
    Package Inserts
    Offline classifieds

Which of these will work best for you depends on where your target market spends their time . . . but several should work.

Focus on the method that works best for your market, then as you maximize your return from that method, start using the next-best method (while maintaining your activity in the first), and keep adding on.

    Best,

    Paul

Yes you can however that puts ALL of the advertising work on you. JV partners are a big key if you wish to make some serious bucks. 3 Years ago I used to promote just by myself and to my little 500 list. I made little if anything each day. Just 1 week ago I launched a list building product with 30 JV parters and made thousands already! JV partners if you can get them are really the way to go to building your list and selling quickly.

    JV's aren't what's at issue here.

It's TRAFFIC. Buy it, steal it, borrow it, beg for it, article market it (blech), SEO it, whatever... but it comes down to eyeballs on your sales page.

    It's totally possible.

If you create interesting, useful, and high quality products you can promote them in our very own WSO board and grow a loyal following.

Produce enough of them at the right price points and you'll gain thousands of customers.

I have never, nor will I EVER rely on JV partners for my income and I earn
6 figures a year. Yes, it's harder to do it on your own, but it can be done and
      it's more fulfilling.

At least for me it is.

As Michael said...you need targted traffic to your page...as much as possible.

Then you need a compelling offer on a must have product.

      It's not rocket science.

As you can see, everyone will tell you different things. You're asking if it's possible - technically, yes. But it's harder. It depends how you'd rather go things, and how much of your time you're willing to sacrifice to make sales.

Desmond, you have asked a LOT of questions on this forum. I wonder if you know that almost all of your questions have already been answered. All you need to do is use the search button.

I've been "making it" full-time since 1999 and have done very few JV's, so for me it is possible. For you or someone else, that's another question.

Speaking of questions, and don't take offense to this because none is intended, but when you learn to ask better questions you'll get more useful information.

Thomas, did you get your picture fixed over at Riley's Video Lab? I got a good laugh out of that prank.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

PPC, CPV, and media buys bring me 99% of all my traffic on the internet so to answer your question, of course they do, there are many ways to drive traffic just focus on what works for you and build from there.

Having JV Partners can help, but is not essential for success. You can do well by simply using affiliate marketing strategies. The only difference is that you are selling your own product.

I love the idea of using Joint Ventures as traffic generators, but there are so many right answers to your question. So yes definitely possible.

In fact, I've seen and know marketers in person who make and ABOVE decent living, without the aid of Joint Ventures.

Also there's this big time e-commerce company (Mindvalley Labs) in my country - last I heard from the founder they're doing $10 million per annum. I've been following their progress and their total sales keep going up and up. Sure they know some big shots, but they major big time on SEO and web 2.0 platforms.

Some people here pointed out other traffic methods in a nutshell, just pick one or some that you feel you have the best chance of winning at. For me, I know my best chances of winning are in JVs, ad swaps, starting affiliate programs, Twitter/Facebook, and viral reports (to name some)!
