"Your Job As An Affiliate Is To...

...presell, NOT to sell!"

Now as a new affiliate who is making sales, but not nearly as many as I'd like to, I'd like to hear what the more experienced marketers think about this statement.

I understand the meaning of the statement and it makes perfect sense to me, but when I sit down to write a post or write an article I feel like I need a much more solid understand of what this VERY important phrase actually means.

Does anyone feel like giving me their understanding of how to actually implement this ideal in reality?

How do you presell in your articles/blog posts and stop yourself doing the big no no of "selling" to your readers?

Thanks, Jenni

the easiest way to pre-sell is to write in an honest tone and as if you were speaking to that person one-on-one.

be honest about your reviews. if you just say that everything is perfect, than no one will believe you.

I second what Karl said -- go read that ebook! It's free to download, so there's no excuse... :-)

The best presell approach is to be down to earth, level with the consumer and share your own genuine experiences. It is this kind of approach that brings the best results.

Well, I don't totally agree on that! Sell or Pre-sell will depends on what keywords and traffic source you are using...

If you are doing forum marketing, you already "pre-sell" your visitors with your brand - your name and reputation.

    The key is traffic!

Build as much targeted traffic as you can, send them to the correct landing page and your conversion will be high!
