It Never Fails to Amaze Me

People come here looking to make money. Whether they do it by taking in information, seeking out JV partners, running WSOs or promoting offers in their sigs, it makes no difference. This is a marketing forum, so no big shock there, right?

A lot of people have built the foundation of their businesses on the wallets of Warrior Forum members. And if you look back into the archives, you'll find some big name marketers cut their teeth in this forum.

But what absolutely blows my mind no matter how many times I've seen it here, is that people who can attribute a significant portion of their income to the Warrior Forum, either directly or indirectly or both, decide they can do better by bashing the forum that they built their business on, and try to lure members away to their own forum, membership site or coaching program.

I'm not talking about people with complementary or competing sites. That's all well and good. I'm talking about the egos with keyboards who are foolish enough to piss in their own feed trough.

With very few exceptions, the fools end up back here six months later (or sooner) looking for new customers.

If your ego tends to override your brain, you might want to rethink your position.

Nuff said.

John

Well, I'm not in WF enough to know off the top of my head who you might be talking about, but it sounds like good advice! Over-sized egos are usually never a good thing. (Yes, Mom, I know "usually never" is a contradictory term.)

    John,

Thanks for the share and insight on this... I think I'm seeing a trend of this happening lately. I just finished reading, not but 15 minutes ago, about exaclty what you're talking about.

It's just a shame that there are people out there like this.

Something so simple that works in the offline world too damn good, I brought to the online world. Help others when help is needed. Don't "bash" the ones that need it the most, because I know most, if not all, were in that same position at one point.

    Thanks again!

Only a fool would do such a thing. Sad fact is that there are lots of fools in this world. O well, what you going to do. I sure will never be one of them as I think way too much of this forum. That is why I spend way more time here than I should.

    Hey John,

I can agree to a point. I definitely would never want anyone to bash the Warrior Forum. It has been very good to me and really is one of the key components to getting me to where I am today.

But, I do warn all of my customers and all of my subscribers to stay away from the WSO section of the forum. The reason being is 98% of the offers inside of that forum are garbage. Almost every single person in there is selling how to make money products without knowing how to make money themselves.

The funny thing, is they will brag about it here in the Main forum and people actually congratulate them on it. I.e... "my first $300 day" and then the post goes something like this... I could never make any money online and then I opened up a WSO and made my first $300 day.

Anyway I will get off that kick. My point is this... if the author you are speaking of was giving good advice, like do not buy the garbage in the WSO forum then I have no problem with that. But, if he is bashing the forum just to bash the forum then that is probably a little wrong.

Side note- not all offers in the WSO forum are garbage.

      Shannon,
Agree with you that many of the products in the WSO are a bit overboard on their claims of income generation but by warning your subscribers and customers to stay away they miss out on finding the 2% of the offers that could ultimately make them thousands of dollars.

Would it not be better to point them in the direction of those 2% offers that actually work?

      Respectfully,
      Tim

I do go on to tell them that if they do buy a product out of there to do 2 things...

        1. Make sure it is actually being sold outside of the WSO board
        2. Do some research on the seller. For instance... Make sure they were not posting questions on how to make money 2 weeks earlier.

Very cool.........I think that's where we can all make a difference by pointing those seeking guidance/help in the right direction in terms of which WSOs can help them succeed.

Even better, if we can take the opportunity to actually purchase the 2% WSO ourselves and then show them how we succeed with them.

          Respectfully,
          Tim

PS - Appreciate you not thinking this was an attack towards you in any manner. Just nice to talk intelligently about this with respected marketers like yourself.

Very well said and an interesting point. These people you refer to have the same personality type ...they are in the service of self and the ones that do success do it at expense of many. In the end, if they are lucky they are wealth but with no friends... except the ones that they can buy who are also in the service of self...vultures.

I have not been here for a long time even though I have been trying to find time to get here for a long time now, but honestly this is the best thing I have read in quite sometime. And no offense to others with awesome advice out there but when its "me me me win win win rich rich rich" it takes the point out of it from the real message that people are actually looking for with the help they need or possible the purchase they want to make.

As a new person to this forum I have attempted to catch up and read almost all of the new posts which is just not possible when its over 400+ at a clip and of the quickest ones that I close a tab out on are all the ones that are so over the top I can not get past the first few sentences. I really think these people are not getting it, even if an anvil fell on their foot as a subtle notice from the sky above. If a brand new person to this community like myself can see it, why can they not see it themselves?

I'm not saying the Warrior Forum is the end all and be all. It's impossible for a gathering of people to satisfy the needs, wants and desires of each individual member. Hell, I challenge you to find a small tight-knit mastermind group that can achieve that. At best you'll eventually end up with a handful forums, memberships, masterminds and coaching programs that collectively provide what you're looking for.

What isn't cool is coming in here as a new member for the sole purpose of luring Warriors to your program. Or worse, hanging out here for a couple of years, using this forum as a primary source of income, then when you think you're big enough trying to convince your little group of followers that the Warrior Forum is sh!t and you are King.

If you really do think you've outgrown this forum, good for you. Show some integrity and stay the hell home. If you don't have what it takes to stick to your guns, your little band of followers will eventually come to understand your hypocrisy. And when you realize you're sitting on a throne in an empty hall, then come slithering back to the Warrior Forum, don't think that there aren't people waiting for your return who will out you in a minute.

When I look at all I've gained from being involved with the Warrior Forum, it shocks me that there are those who would pull this stunt.

I know that over 90% of the friends I've made in IM (including yourself and the other ragtags at the Holler) I first met here. Even the guys here in Japan, I first met through WF (We even call ourselves the J-Warriors).

Being part of the Warrior Forum is a badge I wear with honour. Working with Allen and doing those Workshops is a priviledge I work to retain at all costs.

As far as I'm concerned, one should never outgrow one britches. Not only is it ungrateful, but one never knows when lean times come and you need those britches again (except for that lazy fat sod Sutton).

        Jan,
is using @ replies to spam Twitter with this garbage.
Let's keep in mind that this is a different thing. John is talking about people who are leeching. The ones you pointed to are angry about being banned, and some of them make some very good points.

Mind you, the ways most of them express their points, and the wildly inaccurate assumptions they're touting as "facts," are over the top. That doesn't mean we can't learn from the valid parts of their criticisms. The way you end that kind of thing is to fix what's actually broken and let the smart people see for themselves that the rest is just people expressing some personal frustration and anger.

While I find the leeching and badmouthing distasteful, they're doing it on their own sites. Not my business. The proper response when you don't like the rules in someone's house or business is just to not go there.

That doesn't mean we have to welcome them back here if they choose to return, of course.

I don't sell on the Warrior forum. I make no money here.
But I make very comfortable living 'because' of this forum.

Without exception, everything I've learned about creating income on-line,
          I've learned here.

I'm here almost everyday, even if only for a few moments. There are
always gems being strewn about that are mine just for the picking.

As a business forum it is without parallel. Knock it and your fool is obvious.

    Jan,

There is a good chance that people like the yokel you mention above, have been outed here on the WF for various infractions. Ultimately being permanently banned. Their purpose of course is to draw attention to what ever they have to offer, since they can no longer participate in the WF.

I also think they shoot their own self in the foot, because the majority of people who receive their junk may well do just the opposite of what they tweeted about.

Anytime a pea sized brain, lets his or her ego push aside what little common sense they may have, they often times step on their own tongue. and other things.

Thats my story and I'm sticking with it.

I remember back when Russell Brunson and Mike Filsaime used to post here.

    Side Note-

I've noticed a lot of the warriors here that derive a lot of income of their wso's don't like to admit it for some reason. Hell, I'd be grateful for the forum and wso's if I had any just yet.

Of course they would still do well now that they have built up their lists (from running wso's) but it's almost like their ego gets in the way and doesn't want to admit that the warrior forum gives them half of their income, or that it's what started their six-figure business.

Why is this? I remember 5 years ago or so the amount of people that would still help in this forum even though there weren't any wso's. The only thing they got is a couple of links in their sig and a little name recognition. This was when Josh Andersen and BigMike and J-Mo, and even Filsaime contributed a lot even though they didn't have a lot to gain.

Now it's incredible that you could build such a business just by creating valuable content and running wso's.

    P.S.

This forum has done wonders for Jeff Walker, Frank Kern, and John Reese too. After all, how would you spread buzz if there weren't a million threads about their upcoming launches.

This thread reminds me of something hilarious I stumbled upon yesterday or the day before. It was a Facebook group for people who have been banned from the WF, and they are all taking turns pissing on the WF, Allen, Paul, and a few other moderators and saying "the WF is for all the wannabe marketers" and blah blah, and yet their avatar pictures they look like low-income weekend warriors. Dont get me wrong, I dont make much outside my day job, but it was just funny that a bunch of pepole who are clearly not in the top 5% are calling everyone on the WF "wannabe marketers". It was hilarious, like a big circle jerk for losers. Pretty funny stuff.

Plain, raw greed. You do not tear your umbrella to pieces when it stops raining. It's utter foolishness.

People should learn to be original in all they do. Ethical businesses normally have a higher success and sustainability rate. Short cuts really don't cut in business. Values of creativity, hard work and respect for proprietary rights are values that every business must inculcate.
