Should I do WSO or Classified Ad?

Hello fellow warriors,

I'm looking to offer my article services but don't know which would be better, a WSO or classified ad. My intent is to offer a package deal at a reduced rate for warriors only, but since I've never advertised here before, I thought I should ask. Thanks for your help!

    Hi Chopper,

If it's a special price or otherwise a special deal for Warriors only, it would qualify as a WSO. The classifieds are for products or services that don't fit in the WSO section. Hope that helps!

Thanks Wendy! Let me follow up with another question: How much should I cut my rates? I've noticed people doing similar work for about half what I normally charge, but my writing is more "full service" than what some are doing. I don't really want to get into a price slashing war, but would like to have some additional work and make a few new contacts. Any ideas/suggestions are really appreciated.

    Thanks!

I haven't run a WSO in quite some time but when I was running them frequently, I can tell you that my super bargains always sold best! Of course, who doesn't like to get a great deal? :-) But that doesn't mean a higher priced WSO couldn't sell well, many of them have. But that would usually happen once you've developed a reputation for quality work and trustworthiness.

If this is your first WSO and your ultimate goal is to build up a clientele here, I would recommend removing as much of the risk as possible from your buyers. People here have been burned by scammers more times than I can count, and they want to feel comfortable that you are not going to do the same.

For that reason, you may want to make your price lower than you normally would so they'd be more comfortable trying you out. I can't tell you how much to slash your price and I don't know what your normal rates are - but I can tell you that if you lower your price enough so that people feel comfortable giving you a try, you are very likely to get repeat work at your normal rates. People here are not against paying for good quality, they just want to make sure that's what they'll get from you first! :-)

Or you could otherwise sweeten the deal like add in a free pack of 5 articles if they order a 5,000 word report, etc. This is custom writing you would be offering, right? If so, just be sure you don't take on too much work so you have a hard time delivering. I would limit sales to as many as you can handle within a week or two, so you don't leave people hanging out there for weeks wondering when they'll get their work.

By my answers you can probably tell there are no right or wrong ways to offer a good deal, just what works for you and what inspires potential customers to give you a try.
