When people come across so many sites that they like, it's hard to keep track of everything...so, that's where social bookmarking comes in real handy....

Yes social bookmarking has a lot of potential but there are tons of social bookmarking sites and tons of aspects to getting the maximum out of it.

Essentially in my opinion what you really want to maximize your time is to target the top few which are highly populated as well as higher pr rather than wasting time submitting it to 100s with low pr or sites which aren't stable. It's still worth something but it might be more of a work than value but it's really a personal decision.

If you get on the first page of digg or buzz or any other social bookmarking site you'll get a surge of traffic however it's pretty difficult and there are a lot of critia.

The one I like best is stumble upon. When I put my sites on it, I immediately see some traffic and what's best is users can like it and if they like it your site will appear on even more people stumble! Thus essentially this means it can go viral without work!

Additionally as usual if you can get more people to like what you're posting such as buzz, or digg, or stumble, favourite your site the better it'll be for you. Many people put sign widgets that allow users to easily do this for you.
