Building My First List

Hey guys,

I've just moved over from another forum and never really done much whitehat in all honesty.

Looks like the best thing to do is start with building a list, which is what I want to start doing from tomorrow.

Can anyone recommend an ebook, or top five tips, etc on how to start out?

I was thinking of releasing a free ebook as a WSO and on a couple of other forums and getting a few signups that way.

Tips on what to offer the list, how many times to message them a week and so on would be great as well!

Thanks in advance for any replies

Regards,
Daniel

You'll find a HUGE resource list right here in the main forum (and in the War Room where I see you are a member) for ebooks and tips to build your list.

I think the biggest thing that you need to focus on is that you're building a list of real people who have needs/wants/desires. As the list builder it is your job to provide them with as much value as possible.

So create a report that you could sell for $20-$30. Then offer it for free in exchange for an email address to build your list. Once you get your squeeze page up then it's all about getting as much traffic as you can and testing it to see how it converts.

Then once your list is growing just treat them like real people and provide them with value that they don't find elsewhere. Build your relationship with them so they come to trust you and you'll be building a life-long business.

Providing great quality content is the key. And use a good autoresponder so you won't have to move your list!

          Hi Marian,

Just wanted to ask about the last bit of what you said, "so you won't have to move your list". What exactly does that mean?

Thanks for the replies so far

I think what she is trying to say is that if you choose an auto responder that is no very reliable you will have to move your list to another one as soon as it starts to grow. So choose a good one from the start.
