Switched My Website To Thesis 1.7. Problems Galore!

I took my already established website with various sales pages and a blog and took the bold step to switch over to DIY themes. (crazy, huh?)

Here are the problems I need help with:

#1 On my squeeze page (Advanced Alcoholic Spouse Help) I had to take away the title of the page so it wouldn't show (will this hurt me in google rankings if I have filled out the custom title tag and meta description? (This is true of all my sales pages- I have to not have a title of a page or it shows up on the sales page- how can this page get a good rank on google with no title?)

Also-how do I increase the width of the landing page, but not have it affect the other pages? For example, my blog page needs 2 columns on the thesis theme to give it a sidebar which made it necessary to decrease the width of the main content. When I did this- it caused my "sales letter" to appear squashed.

#2 Blog page problems
I need to allow comments on this page, but prevent it on all the other pages of my site Alcoholic Spouse Advanced Help ? Dr. Sarita Uhr's on line resource providing alcoholism education and help with marital problems

I will be totally grateful if someone can help me with this!

Hve you considered using a theme built for doing squeeze pages that is designed to do what you're trying to? Marketer Theme

I had my squeeze page on one of those, but decided that Thesis 1.7 is so SEO friendly that if I can get through the pain of the transition, it will be a benefit in the long run.
