Is Traffic Exchange any good for squeeze page?

Hey warriors,

i set up my squeeze pages and i'm driving traffic to them by using articles obviously. I placed free ads where i could and i started doing some traffic exchange stuff but i'm totally new to this. I have no idea how it works or if it works at all...(i understand that the traffic won't be as good as with articles 'cause is not as targeted, but maybe i'm wrong).

Anybody has any advise to offer?

I appreciate your time,

thank you

paolo

      Hi Robert,

Although many people claim traffic exchanges are useless I've seen you mention a few times on here that you've had great success with them in the past. Are there any specific services you've used with more success than others?

Traffic Exchange works like this, by exchanging your site visitors with others, so same time building traffic for your site and as well as for exchanging site. I just ran into this site Top Traffic Exchanges and Best Rated Traffic Exchange looks ok to me. Good luck.

Traffic Exchanges are also good for branding... meaning if you use
a certain color scheme or logo that is very distinct, the users
of the exchange get to know you that way too.

Buy yes a squeeze page is ideal for Traffic Exchanges as long as
they are built correctly, have bullets, a great free offer, etc...

Right now even though the owner of the site is not my best friend (we have issues) the best place currently to see the better traffic exchanges listed is here
      Affiliate Funnel

      Jamien

That page is a feeder program for the owners choicwe of TE, its just there to get him referrals in those programs, while affiliate funnel is also a downline builder as well, the owners are somewhat more sophisticated in how the top exchanges are listed.

They know what works and why, and are very protective of the listings, making sure they get there on merit, rather than just on their whim

well I have found traffic exchanges to be totally useless unless you are promoting a product or squeeze page in the "make money online" niche.

I suppose everyone who is using traffic exchange is trying to sell something and they are not interested in your offer. Just my thoughts

I have been using traffic exchanges for years and i get great results.

As Robert said. Its all about your squeeze page and if its compelling enough.

So squeeze pages and splash pages work great but professional looking pages convert the best.

I have tested tons of squeeze pages and it seems to me that video works the best.

Traffic exchanges work best for me if i have a squeeze page giving away a free book or product.

Building a list is the best way to utilize traffic exchanges.

Although they are called Traffic Exchanges, one of the most significant effects of a TE, is indeed site branding, and product awareness. Because of the repetitive nature of a Traffic Exchange (only of course if you use Manual surf) people get exposed various times to your site while surfing.

I guess you need to figure out a better way of approaching the use of a Traffic Exchange. Truth is, we are ALL online to make money, sell a product or service. So what is the difference, between posting here with a link, and submitting a Splash or Squeeze page to a surf site? NONE! Actually yes there is a difference, here we also LEARN, exchange ideas and collaborate. But at a traffic exchange you can also build a list of contacts. Instead of placing your home page (which you SHOULD NOT, to avoid high bounce rate) you submit an optin splash page and build a subscriber list.

        Hello

        Hers my opinions.

First off like i said before the best thing is to use a splash page or a squeeze page.

        Dont sell anything.

You want to grab people and funnel them in your list.

So best thing to do is set up the squeeze page giving away something free.

You can use a plr product. The best thing to use is your own. Like maybe a training video of some sort or maybe a book. Videos work best.

It is always good to upgrade in these traffic exchanges. I would start out with a minumum and upgrade later.

I would surf at least 5-10 exchanges to start with and track your pages.

That way in a few weeks you can see which exchange your pages are converting best on.

Its always good to create more than 1 squeeze page or splash page.

That way you can test them to see which one converts best.

Most people will tell you to sign up for the most popular traffic exchanges with the most traffic.

I will say that is true for some of them such as I Love Hits and Advertising Know How.

A good site to get the most update top 10 traffic exchanges is to use traffic hoopla or affiliate funnel.

Like i said before though just because there in the top ten doesnt mean you will have a good conversion.

So even try the smaller ones. They still provide some pretty good traffic and the chances of your pages showing more than once to the same person is better.

They say it on average it takes at least 5 times for a person to see your page before they click on it

So this is why i use smaller exchanges along with the bigger ones.

        Hope this helps

Only bad advice in there craig is this...

never upgrade in any TE. But always buy the credit packages instead

            Yes Robert your absoulutely right.

After all the training and books i read of yours i should of not even stated that.

The only reason i even said that was because i am upgraded in a few but i also have a pretty big downline in a few of them so i get that nice little income every month.

So what i meant to say is dont upgrade in any te's build you a downline first then when you have a few upgraded members in your downline then you might want to consider upgrading.

That way you will at least break even and not even have to pay for the upgrade.

            Sorry for the mistake.

            Thanks Robert for the correction.

Craig, you hit the nail on the head, 'tracking conversion' is what it is all about. Robert and I have been running TE's for years and it's amazing how many members I know use TE's badly.

TE's are great to create lists and therefore squeeze pages work incredibly well. Think about it, tons of sellers all in one place.... yes they all want to sell something, so offer a product or service that helps them sell more or better and what do you think is going to happen to your list???

Understand the market that a TE has to offer, understand how best to target that market and then understand how to control the constant growth in your business..

Craig my TE is relaunching soon, actually with something Robert worked on, so send me a quick PM and I'll add you some free credits as quality IM'ers is what I like to surround myself with...

One more thing i would like to add. You made a good point. You said you like to surround yourself with quality im'ers.

Thats another thing to look for when joining a TE.

Quality. What i mean by that is this.

Is the owner of the site accessible.

      Or maybe his staff.

What type of other imers are on this exchange.

Usually these tips are not mentioned in books so pay close attention.

These are more advanced tips that i use personally.

Introduce yourself to the exchange. If they respond with a hello back thats a good sign.

Look around to see if they have the trust online seal or scam x seal.

This helps in deciding if this is a good TE.

      Now as far as quality.

I will give you one tip.

I use alexa. I know this might sound harsh but its the truth.

Alexa will let you know from what country the percentage of visitors are coming from.

If you see an exchange with a high rate of visitors say coming from india then i know there quality is not going to be that great.

Heres why. Like i said before this might sound harsh but its the truth.

Most 3rd world countries like india and places like that hold alot of hackers and cheaters.

So usually i stay away from sites with a high percentage of third world county users.

Heres another thing i do. This might sound dumb but it works.

So here is what i do to test a new site that i might have just joined.

See i look for the quality in a site so i can get better conversions so i dont want to join a site with tons of members that are just looking for contests and money from other TE's I call them money seekers.

So heres what i do. I set up a splash page from another site who might be running a prize contest. Maybe find a site that is doing like surf 1000 pages and earn 20 cents or something along those means.

Now this is just a test im conducting so dont everyone try this method. This is something i set up myself and if you dont do it right it wont work.

So anyway i set up the page and i throw it on 3-4 different exchanges.

I run it for a few weeks and see what my click thru is.

I choose the site that has the less click thrus. Make sense.

Why do i do this. Well because the less click thrus on a page like that just means more quality im'ers are surfing and ignoring those pages which tells me they are looking for marketing opportunities.

Im not going to tell you everything i do to test this but maybe you can read it in my book which i am not sure when im going to release it yet. I have been working on this book for a year now and i like to accurately test things before i go fully in detail. But i think the book will help you.

      Hope this helps
      Craig

      Anyway just my thoughts
