Newbie Problem, I'm studk

I have many ideas but am stuck on using a wordpress template to create a review site.
Does any one know how to send the template folder to NVU to edit the template?
Please give instructions and sorry for the knuckleheadedness.
I have downloaded the template folder but can't get it to work in NVU.

You edit Wordpress online - not on your computer. If you want to edit the theme, click on "editor" in the "appearance" menu - or look to see if your theme has any options of its own.

If you have't uploaded the theme into Wordpress yet - go to Appearance, Add New Themes and type in the name of the theme you want to use.

Or if it isn't available that way, use ftp software to ftp your theme files to the wp-content/themes folder on your server. Then you will need to go to Appearance/themes and activate the theme.

Editing and modifying Wordpress Templates can get tricky since it's written in PHP, using a lot of CSS, and can't be edited with a WYSIWYG editor. I recommend looking at other Wordpress templates to see if they're more suitable to your needs or just buy a theme that already does what you want (just google affiliate themes).

Since you are just starting in IM, I would not focus too much time on changing layouts in WordPress. One of the great things about WordPress is that you can change the layout (or Theme as it is called) with a few clicks, no programming required!

You can choose from thousands of free themes at wordpress.org, or within WordPress like rosetrees describes above. If you don't like any of those, you can find many premium themes on the web with amazing graphics and many built in features.

Don't spend too much time on looking for the PERFECT theme. Pick one, get your website up and running, and then start spending the majority your time on marketing and driving traffic to your site. Having a "pretty" site that no one visits is not going to make you any money...
