Hey all,
Looking for a bit of edumucation.

On all of my sites I have always created my own content. Now, however, I'm looking to put up a site that has specific pages for each breed of dog with breed descriptions for each dog.

Now, there are hundreds of dog breeds so I'm not in the mood to write an article about each one. I see the term PLR on here all the time and know what it is in theory but have never used PLR info.

If I wanted to quickly populate my site with content about each dog breed would finding a PLR resource be a way to go? Ideally, what I would like to do is find a source of info that I could then go in and tweak each article. (I'm a professional dog trainer so I have my own take on different things and would likely need to customize the info, plus I would want to make it unique for the search engines)

Is there a free or cheap resource where I could get that content that I could tweak? If you were me and looking to quickly get a bunch of content like this what would you do?

Thanks!

As long as you are willing to spend time editing each and every article then PLR could work for you. It is a great springboard for content when you don't want to write articles from scratch.

I'd look for a professional source like Nicole Dean or Tiffany Dow to purchase from though (not sure if they are in your niche though!) - you want some decent content to start with and most PLR seems to be just a badly written mess.

IF you do go with PLR you'll want to make sure it's 30-50% unique if you want any chance of it ranking in the SERPS though.

I'm actually fine with the editing, I tend to be able to do that quickly. It's the content creation that's a hassle.

I've seen references to PLR memberships? Would there be a low cost membership that would have this info? How could I go about finding that?

    Thanks

i think using a plr to populate your content will help you only if you are ready to do all the hard work it requires.

    article spinners are no better
[actually iv not seen any that does the job better]

my best bet for you if you really want to have a good content for your niche is to look in the direction of creating/writing your own articles yourself.

but if you think the work is too much to handle then i'll suggest you outsource it! check out my sig if you are thinking to outsourcing.

    Hi Ty,

If you think your site has the potential to make X, then you'll know you can budget $Y for outsourcing articles. Decent articles don't have to be expensive as long as your creative. For example, you could talk to an english professor at a local college and ask them if they could recommend a few of their better students for article writing? What student wouldn't like some extra money for doing what they already do well?

So, you offer something like $4/article but they only have to be 4-5 paragraphs long. They'll knock off 2-3 per hour and think they're making easy money and you can get your first 25 breeds done for 100. And, make sure you pick the breeds which have good traffic but the least competition, and the revenue from those pages will pay for your other articles.

Otherwise, go to the known places, like Guru.com ? Find Freelancers for Hire. Get Your Project Done. and put out a project for seo article packs, 4-5 paragraphs each, keyword list provided, etc., and see what you get. The peace of mind is in outsourcing. Someone could be writing fresh content for you even as you read this. The only problem I have with all this is that your wanting to do this "cheaply" tells me you either have no confidence in your site's potential earning power, and/or you've done no due diligence into estimating its potential.

If you did, then you wouldn't necessarily need "cheap" or "free" articles, but one's that were simply within budget.

Whatever the case, Ty, I wish you great success,
    Eric
