Any camtasia expert here?

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to pause the onscreen recording when my powerpoint presentation is in full screen mode which causes the toolbar to "hide". I tried using the hotkey but it doesn't work. What should I do? Thanks in advance!

I guess I've never run into that problem but I don't record Powerpoint in full screen mode since it just ends up resulting in far bigger video files than I need - in Powerpoint Slideshow setup, you can set it to do your presentation in a window.

Update: I just tried pausing my recording with the F9 key and it works just fine in full screen mode... sorry I can't be of more help.

I agree, this is what works best for me. Have PPT in a smaller window, then you can just click on the pause button on Camtasia if the hotkey isn't working right.

I ain't an expert either. But I got a camtasia problem. I recorded my video using powerpoint and then saved a .cam file. Now when I add this to my timeline and render the video, the rendering goes up to 20% and then the pc gets turned off...

You can usually set your pause and stop hotkeys in the camtasia powerpoint settings (located in powerpoint). You might have the incorrect hotkeys setup, as an example you sometimes have to hold down shift, control and then F9 to get it to pause.

The hot key is f9. Look and see if the f9 key is blue, or any other color besides white. If it is you need to press Fn + F9
