Getting someone to "be the face" of your niche business? How...?

Ok,

So at some point in the near future, I want to put a face at the front of one of my online businesses, instead of just going under a pen name and hiding behind screen captures/text based training.

The reason I don't want to use my own face is that I don't really want to be personally associated with the market. Not because it's anything shady...it's just that I prefer not to be, for professional and personal reasons.

So, how would you go about this?

I'm thinking maybe there's a way to hire somebody to do presentations on a contractual basis, or give them a share of the profits if they essentially "front" the business?

A bit like a PR department or spokesperson thing?

How do I do this kind of thing? I mean, where would you find someone like this?

They would basically have to:

- Show their face on camera/possibly do presentations I prepare for them
- Be visible on social networking sites
- Allow me to use their pic in all site material (such as on the blog, in the product perhaps etc)

The reason I ask, is because I'm not sure if this is something you can really source on Elance types of sites...or is it???

C'mon you smart Warriors...put me out of my misery.

Kind regards,

Nick

Make sure you have a backup plan in case that person ever stops working with you. All your material will be tied to them.

How about asking a friend or relative?

hmm, don't think friends/relatives are a good option for this. I wouldn't really need a backup plan as it will be MY business, with what would essentially be a member of staff to "face" or "front" the company.

Any other ideas folks? I know someone out there has the answer!

    Hey Nick,

Hope everything's going well for you!

I think you could definitely outsource this on an a
freelance site... I doubt you would have anywhere near
the response of hiring a writer or a designer, but I'm sure
    you could still find someone.

Here's what I found in about 30 seconds of searching:
Actors, Professional Actors, Freelance Actors, Acting Professionals - Guru.com
    Professionals Search Results - oDesk

As someone who does this for professional reasons, I just make sure my face and name are not online or one any presentatations.

In addition to using a pen name (like many writers do), simply don't appear on camera. If, for some reason, you want someone, hire an actor. You could get someone from a local junior college or acting group. If you feel the need for a picture, buy one at one of the photo stock houses.

If you use an actor, make sure you have a solid contract and cover every contingency.
