Listbuilding SECRET.. and question..

I was listening to an interview from one of the "gurus" a while back and they discussed that they tested magazine ads and direct mail that asked people to EMAIL them instead of go to a website and sign up.

Then when the person sent and email they we're automatically put on a single opt in list. (they could also be send a double opt in email)

And with the single opt in via email they got a 10x greater response vs sending people to a squeeze page.

Anyway they said that with aweber the double opt in is the only way you're allowed to collect leads via email.

They didn't mention which service let's you collect leads directly from them sending an email.

Does anyone know what auto-responder services let you?

I hope some of you can grow your lists with this method and thanks in advance for the site recommendations.

aweber allows someone to be added to your list by simply emailing [listname]@aweber.com

They'll still be sent a confirmation message like they opted in.

The only disadvantage, I suppose, is that you don't get their name... but I'm not sure if that's a disadvantage or not to be honest.

I can't speak for other autoresponders, as I use aweber...

Indeed, Aweber allows this and it is a great way to use some of the forums,
where it is not allowed to post your website link.

This should work on almost any other autoresponder that has the form of listname@autoresponder. Even with double optin I have been receiving at least 1-10 subscribers to a list of mine since I implemented it back in october.

Join the war room and see how I even twisted this method up a bit to get the persons name and message even The war room is so worth it! You will get your $37 back in no time!

What if you setup [yourname]@[yourdomain].com and have it forward to[listname]@aweber.com?

Normally when you set up forwarding in cpanel the "from" information is retained.

I put a listname email in my Amazon profile - so people can reach
me but the spammers that just collect emails off Amazon get put
on my list. Of course if they were reading my emails they would
know how to harvest my real email and spam me their, but they
don't seem to have figured that out.'

    Great tip though.

Here's a truth about stuff: People are lazy and often incompetent.

They may know how to send an email but be severely challenged
in typing in your URL. Or at least behave that way. I have run
ads in "bizop" magazines and you would not believe some of the
calls I got from people who wanted to make money online. It
doesn't surprise me at all that for many people sending an email
is far easier than navigating in a browser and reading (ugh - people
hate to read, many of them) more copy.

      Thanks for all the replies!

Does anyone know of an auto responder where someone doesn't have to confirm after sending an email and is instead automatically added to your list?

      Thanks again guys.. you're awesome!
