Hey Guys,

I found out today that I have been charged twice for $19.97
and I have no idea what I bought.

After some time I remembered that I got a trial for something but
I couldn't get access so I cancelled it right away. And on april 1st
he charged me twice for $19.97

Now I like april fools' day but this is just ridiculous. and what is shocking
is that it has happened to me twice from the same guru and from the same site.
I got a trial, didn't like the product and I cancelled in time and I still had
to pay $45.95

I mean this is just getting on my nerves. I am a big fan of his methods and
marketing but now I hate him because that's not the way you market with
people and make money from them.

EDIT: I have contacted him for a refund and I'm waiting on a reply but the last time it happened, I contacted him and he didn't refund my my money.

  • Have you tried to talk to him and ask for a refund?
  • Go to your bank, change your credit card or ask them to investigate

    • Contact your bank and dispute ALL the questionable charges. They have to investigate for you.

Keep a concise record of all the contacts you have attempted with this "guru" because they will ask for evidence that you have tried to resolve the matter yourself.
  • Contact them, if that does not work you can always go through your credit card company or paypal.

(not saying this is right or wrong, ok welll I think its wrong and a cash grab through bad customer service)
I had a well known marketer trial I started and was $97 after 14 days. I cancelled it within hours since it was basic stuff. I got charged $97 2 weeks later. I contacted them and got the normal pitch we dont want you to leave, but how about this, since we messed up, we will give you a $500 package instead of the refund.

Does that sound like a planned, opps, we messed up, so they have a second chance of keeping the money? Do you think this is just marketing or sleezy?

    Cheers,
    Mukul
  • I'll be Captain Obvious here for a moment -- in the future, don't do business with people who haven't served you well in the past.

    Now, about the current situation...

First off, double check that you did indeed cancel within the acceptable time frame. (Read the TOS.) In other words, know what your rights are first before proceeding.

Secondly, gather together proof that you canceled. For example, do you have an email or screenshot that confirms your cancellation?

Third, contact the vendor and provide this proof. Don't accuse or be mean about it. Just present your cancellation confirmation materials and ask for the refund. (Sounds like you're already at this step -- if you don't hear anything, then go back and do steps 1 and 2 and contact the vendor again.)

Fourth, if you don't get a response from the vendor (try multiple forms of contact if necessary), then go through other channels. For example, go through the payment processor if it's something like PayPal.

Last resort, do a chargeback. This is where the TOS stuff and your proof comes in handy.

    Cheers,
    Becky

p.s. Going through the proper channels one by one assumes you're dealing with an honest vendor, and that the double charge was some sort of glitch or mistake. If there was actual fraud, then you may pursue it slightly differently.

How can you possibly be a big fan of someone who is ripping you off and has done it more than once and will not provide a refund. If it were me, I'd be building a "So And So is a Ripoff Artist" page, unsubscribing from his lists, disputing the charges in Paypal or your bank and whatever else it took to get a refund.

    • Well,

I know I'm stupid to trust him again but he is so big of a guru that I stopped thinking about the bad him and started concentrating on his methods and teachings.

And I can bet, each and every person on this thread knows the guy and knows that he's a guru.

    • As of right now, I have submitted a support ticket and I have collected and saved all the emails I got from him about the transaction.
