Google making life difficult again!
Hi,
I just wanted to ask if any of you guys have noticed that Google have sparodically made competing pages competition more difficult to guage.
As a quick guide to competion for any specific keyword we all (well i do) stick the keyword into "quotes" just as a rough guide as to the competing pages for the keyword and then work from there.
This last few weeks i have noticed more and more often that by placing a keyword in quotes the search results dramatically rises and not fall, here is an example..
Keyword seven dwarfs names google results 557,00 results
then, when put into "quotes" this happens
Keyword "seven dwarfs names" google results 1,950,000 results
Yes that is a bit of a random keyword, but most days that we do keyword research we normally come up with a few of these anomalies on an ongoing basis.
Just wondered if you have noticed this trend over the last month or so, it ceratainly is a little inconveinient as i use this very basic method as a guide to competition before digging further into the specific keyword competition.
Anyways, i just wonderedif you have had the same happen to you, or you can tell me why it is giving results like this.
