Airline pilots make $134k? In michael moore's latest documentary on capitalism, there's a segment about airline pilots and their shockingly LOW salaries...they interviewed some pilot who was making 20-something grand a year and using food stamps to keep his family fed!

I'll take my internet marketing career over any of 'em...

...and the dude (hero) that landed the plane in the Hudson River apparently had a second job.

Private jet travel is a "rich niche".

When you first start out as a pilot you fly the commuters. Those pilots get by with less than 20k a year.

        I second that.

They always change. You can find them using Micro Niche finder or Niche Disco (i use this one)

yeah they always change due to supply and demand, I would also advise using micro niche finder or keyword samurai, both brilliant tools for finding amazing niches.

I encourage you to go after niche markets based on your passion for them, as opposed to how "rich" they are. Why compete in a market where other people are more passionate that you, know more about the topic, and have an easier time putting in long hours?

Focus on building a business around something you love, so the work doesn't always seem like work. You'd be surprised how much easier it is to make more money this way... and you can actually build long-term success around it (rather than jumping from business to business with little success along the way).

The Internet is getting more and more competitive, and as a result it just doesn't make sense to spend your time in a market that you know little about. Do you really think Doctors and Lawyers are going to buy your products/services over someone they see as being more qualified?

A "Niche" that hardly anyone looks at...and a Niche that HAS Money...and a Niche where hardly anyone IN that Niche...has a website....is...

        ROOFERS!

"Roofers" in my area charge $10,000 min per job and out of 26 roofing cos in the local YP...only ONE....just ONE Roofer has a website!

Why? Maybe because they don't think they need one? (Nope...not nowadays) Maybe because they can't afford one? (Nope...these guys have money and ONE Job from a website will pay for a year)

Roofers probably don't have websites because they HAVEN'T BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT HAVING ONE!

Neither have many "Plumbers" and "Electricians".

Give these Niches a HARD LOOK!

          Thank you MidasMan!

And thank you to all that have contributed.

Just to clarify my original post - I am trying to identify the rich niches so that I can market to them, not be one of them. MidasMan and a few others correctly deciphered the intent of my ambiguous original.

          Regards,

If you are strictly looking for a quick kill, try local investors or investor groups. Business consulting firms are another ALIVE industry. Of course, never rule out offline internet marketing consultants.

Most of the newbie folk here are so busy trying to flog forex or weight loss bilge that they've overlooked something very obvious...

Do you have a job? Have you ever had a job? If so then why not market whatever your job was about. Were you a dental nurse? Write about stuff your dentist bought from the wholesaler. Were you a secretary? Write about office supplies. Were you a plumber? Write about plumbing. You'll find that there is very little competition in many of these niches and B2B advertisers will pay any amount of CPC to get rich business customers.
