Its not something that I have ever been involved in, but as I'm just starting a new list building project, I thought I might look into it a bit more.
Anyone have any experience? There must be some that are better than others.

    Andy,

I've participated in a couple of Giveaway events
    this year.

The best advice I can give you is to look carefully
at who else is participating and how the event is
    being managed.

    John is right!

I'm trying to build my list up and I am currently entering almost all giveaway events which are currently running.

However, many of these have literally only brought in 3 or 4 sign ups per event and that's after upgrading and submitting 4 or 5 gifts!

That said, the very first one I joined got me about 25 subscribers but since then, they have been very hit and miss!

    Hi guys

i have used jv giveaways myself and i find them to be a total waste of time and energy for how much time you put into them they are just not worth it.

The people that buy from giveaways tend to subscribe to 50 different products at once download the products and unsubscribe straight away.

why not try social media instead as twitter/facebook pages etc can be very good for building a list and in one day in social media i can get more subscribers then i would get from 5 giveaway events.

    kind regards

I hardly do these, but John's right. He and I both entered the same giveaway event recently and I know we both got over 1000 subscribers from it.

Make sure you maximize your system by having a OTO for people right away - this way you can make some money while you build your list and you're already ahead of the game.

I don't want to hijack this thread so I'll just say it was a traffic generation ebook that I wrote.

John was giving a blogging ebook.
