Has Google changed searches?

When you entered a misspelled keyword, Google defaulted to the search results for the misspelling and gave you the option of choosing the correct spelling.

It now appears that they default to the correct spelling and you have to choose the option of the misspelling. I doubt if many folk will do this.

How will this affect those who are trying to rank for misspellings? If this is correct will it be worth trying to rank for these keywords?

I don't see any changes. It's still showing "Did you mean:" version for me.

"Showing results for how to lose weight. Search instead for how to loose weight"

The above is what I get when I typed in "how to loose weight" without quotation marks.

    Strange!!!

Yes, it seems that G has changed the way it dishes out the results... We just have to see what happens in a few days time.

If it is true that G has changed the defaults, then Lawrie, thanks for bringing it to our attention least we spent much time and effort trying to rank for misspelled keywords.

OK. As long as Google.com stays the same we should be OK.

They have become a little too helpful. For example, giving me results for "sobro" when I type in seobro.
